  1. Makes sense, Martin always keeps a winning lineup together as much as possible. Moen will stay with Plekanec, because they produced last game. The top 9 will largely stay intact. One bad period though, and we'll see the shuffle.
  2. The only problem i see with Weber, is where does he fit into this team long term. He's a RH offensive first Dman. PK Subban is a RH offensive Dman, who is younger, and better at both ends of the rink.... so that takes up 1 spot. Diaz and Weber are both Righties who are more offensive than defensive. Long term, there is probably only room for 2 guys in that spot and there needs to be a defensive presence on the right side of the defence as well. Thats why i think at some point Weber will be traded for help in an area that we are weak.
  3. I'm betting Eller will centre the third line, Darche will be bumped to the fourth line and Desharnais will move to wing on the third. If this doesn't happen thursday, it will happen very soon. The only thing I see as a stumbling block here, is how quickly do they want Eller playing that role, or are they planning to ease him in.
  4. From what I understand, the 4-6 month (or longer) shoulder surgery is an option here.
  5. 7 goals 2 assists in 4 games played. Guess he was jealous of Bournival's gaudy numbers.
  6. Brett Favre was on the other network, saying that Calvillo should have done it faster.
  7. Agents don't work for the league or one of its member clubs. They have no contract with the NHL, and they can't as it would be a conflict of interest. Therefore they aren't subject to any of the NHL's professional conduct standards or policies which is what coaches, players, and GMs are fined under. The group that monitors agents is the NHLPA, and they aren't fining anyone for this.
  8. Nothing on Spacek.... and today is the Habs off day (usually Sunday) so the earliest we'll hear from Martin is tomorrow.
  9. Weber's offensive skills, PP QBing, and especially his shot are all NHL caliber, no question about any of those. I worry about his defensive game, but he did look better last night than he did against the Leafs. Last year I found him very hit and miss though, so hopefully he develops consistency in that aspect.
  10. Woywitka would have been waived anyway. As both he and Engqvist were sent to Hamilton when Betts was claimed. Engqvist was the guy who was going to lose his job to Betts, and was the guy recalled when they learned Betts couldn't play in Toronto. Woywitka was the 9th D to start the year and always headed to the minors.
  11. Thanks, just a side project for us all. We all have real careers, and aren't journalists by any means.
  12. I did a little blog on the game..... although its for an "all sports" site, not a Habs site. So its more focused on the Jets first home game than our habs. Still if you want to read it, its here http://lastwordonsports.com/?p=1143
  13. I see you've found where I've relocated. I'm spreading the love of course with the link up top. Although, the site's been slow the last couple nights, i had to go to the AHL, QMJHL, WHL, and individual NCAA team sites for the stats.
  14. Oh great now Tinordi is becoming an offensive dynamo and i have to track him too
  15. Beaulieu with 1 goal 1 assist for the Sea Dogs in a win today. Bournival held off the scoresheet for the first time all season in a Shawinigan loss. Archambault with 1 goal 2 assists in an OT loss for Drummondville
  16. i heard its for the american tv camera guys, so they can identify guys on the bench. when a producer says, "get me a shot of ______ on the bench" some of the camera guys didn't know the faces well enough. So now they can just say, "get me a shot of #32 on the bench" and the number is on the front of the helmet, so you can find them.
  17. Desharnais also had a really nice game today.
  18. Actually, the Habs were practicing Weber and Diaz on the second PP unit yesterday. He got PP time when Campoli got hurt.
  19. In fairness Max Pac to Gomez to Gionta should have been a goal in the first period. If Gio doesn't miss an open net are we complaining about Gomez?
