  1. If all those first three guys blossom the team is going to have to do some major changes to the team.
  2. Players say that all the time...but its their agents that do their dirty work. I'm sure this scenario will happen to Theodore when he signs. He said it on television more than once that he wants to play in Montreal and sign a long term deal if the money was right. Watch Don Meehan, his douche bag agent, get him a deal in the area of 5 million a season (my guess is 5.5 million actually). You can smell it that Meehan is going to push the 6 million a season border. I remember hearing when the rumor going around was a 4 year deal worth 22 million. Sounded obscur at the time but now it makes some sense. Who knows, maybe I'm the only one getting this impression.
  3. This should be interesting to see how much St.Louis will get now. It's not like he didn't score more points than Vinny...no wait, HE DID! He won the Art Ross trophy. Unless he gets more, watch the "you're not a proven player in the NHL yet" card being played on him. Jay Feaster just shot himself in the foot in my opinion with this lucrative signing.
  4. Wow I still can't believe Dackell was on the first line.
  5. I expect him to sign a long-term deal one day with the Habs since many people expected Koivu's one year deal to be his kiss of death with rumors of being replaced by Lecavalier next season. Doubt that will happen any time soon, or should I say in four years. *dramatic music*
  6. I hear the Red Light Racicot would join if this deal was to occur
  7. Bah, watch him get traded this season. He'll get the team some potentiel draft picks hopefully.
  8. Just to make things interesting around here. Translation..three canadian teams (including the Habs) and one american team are interested in getting Witt. Here's the link: http://rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/185599.html Scroll down to the last paragraph.

    Bure?

Signing Bure? Sounds iffy considering we'll be close to the cap upper limit if we sign him even if it's for cheap (which will never happen).
  10. Except Toronto *evil laugh*
  11. That sounds like a really bad deal. You ever see Kolzig play carefully? He's not really talented, it's his size (height and weight, he's a big one) that makes him who he is. [Edited on 2005/8/12 by Tony]
  12. I'd like to see Danis get a shot in the NHL but to be honest I hope that him backing up Theodore won't affect his development. Yann does need to play some hockey in order to do so and I doubt sitting on the bench is the best way. Sure, one would argue he would be training with Reland Melanson but first and foremost he needs to be playing to gain experience. At this point though, it should be interesting to see the Bulldogs next season. Halak, Danis and Deslauriers (I'm assuming the Oilers send him to Hamilton) should make an interesting battle for number one goalie.
  13. The ultimate irony for Lindros' case would if he gets his final and career ending concussion again the Nordiques in Quebec city. Oh well, you can always dream...
  14. Sweet, nice read. Tnanks for posting. edit: typo [Edited on 2005/8/12 by Tony]
  15. I like the idea of Komisarek giving big hits but it should only be used to boost up the team momentum. Never want him to injure a player badly. Maybe cause a minor problem only in the playoffs, that's about it (i.e.: Like in last playoffs against Boston, I was wishing one good hit would slow Thornton down but not hurt him)..
  16. The one year deals is because aside from making sure players aren't a one hit wonder you also have to consider whether the cap will increase or decrease next season if the league revenus are low. I don't know if it would apply in this case but you never know.
  17. Oh well, when will the Leafs learn.
  18. I doubt it, jumping a goalie from the Q to the NHL isn't very easy.
  19. That's what happend to Marc-André Fleury. The Pens shipped his ass down to the minors. Those were the days were all the experts were saying the Calder was going to be given to either Fleury or Jason King of the Vancouver Canucks.
  20. The Fourth period is reporting that this rumor is completly bogus. http://thefourthperiod.com/news/fla050810.html
  21. I always though Sauve would make a decent backup with more experience.
