I really think you are underestimating the amount of ex-pats, especially in Ontario. I run into Habs fans all the time. Most are either: -Montreal ex-pats- -children of Montreal ex-pats -cheer for the Habs because the leafs are the leafs. I'd say that less than 50% of the hardcore hockey fans that I run into are leaf fans and I live in the suburbs of Toronto. Many are just fed up and consider them to be a joke.

Friday night game, 9 oclock start I believe, would be easy to take a pass on this one. Who's gonna watch?

Thats the way I remember it too, similar to this year except this year you had the Harrison INT return which was one of the more exciting players in SB history, especially when you take into account that the half had expired.

To be honest I remember two plays from last year's Super Bowl. Tyree and then the Burress TD. Next year I guarantee I will remember the Fitz TD, the Harrison INT return, the Holmes TD and even a couple of catches leading up to it, and the Zona safety. Probably the Warner fumble too to end the game. It's arguable but I'm taking this years game and I don't think I'm alone judging by what a lot of my friends were saying, as well as the media. Perhaps you enjoyed the Giants-Pats because it was just fun to root against New England?

A Vikings regular season that didn't end in bitter disappointment I don't know how to feel. We haven't won a big game to get into the playoffs since I started following them. Not overly optimistic about our chances against Philly but we'll see...

I'm really feeling the same way. I love the sport and i'll be all over fantasy baseball when it comes along, but I'm having a hard time getting fully invested in the Jays (ex-Expos fan). It's just not fun being in a division with the sox and yanks. And with the economic downturn we can't even pretend to compete financially. Of course Riccardi sucks too so everything is against us.

I can't buy into the fact that the yankees overpay for anyone. In the literal sense, yeah they can give too much money to a particular player, but in a figurative sense, the yankees can't actually overpay for anyone as they have a (seemingly) unlimited budget. I really don't think they even care what CC is doing for them 4-5 years down the line, if they still get great numbers from him then perfect, but if he starts to lag and is a mid-rotation guy, then they can just go out and get somebody else. Seems like the economic times are just making the rich even richer. Jays only seem to be in the market for Furcal at this point, and with Marcum out for the year the rotation is looking weak after Halladay and a hurting McGowan. Ahhh MLB...when will you get a cap

IMO Kostopolous has been great, even if he isn't suited for an offensive role long term. Do you keep Lats benched and bring in SK for BGL? Or do you bench begin as well and bring in Lats and SK? Begin has been great lately, so I think BGL sits and Lats as well for another game...

you are quite right. Richard and especially Turco seemed pretty angry about having him on the team. Owner Tom Hicks said he would have been suspended by the team if the NHL didn't do anything. The worst is how he calls all of the reporters over. What a loser.
