Really sucks to lose Janssen, but i think we have the depth to survive his loss with Ryan, League and Accardo still in the pen. The bigger loss might be in his ability to be the 5th starter, as right now it's Jesse Litsch and nobody behind him. Gotta hope our top 4 stay healthy or a good rotation could suddenly turn suspect...

I would even go as far as to say it was one of the best hours of television i've ever seen. Of Course it helps that Desmond is probably my favourite character and Faraday is quickly rising up the ranks.

Was a so-so episode for sure, but the previous Desmond episode was amazing, one of my favourite episodes of the series...

Maybe he felt guilty about how Claire died (if she is dead). He might also have realized that Aaron is his nephew and maybe that makes it hard for him as well. Who knows. I was pretty happy with that episode. My biggest question is what happened to the helicopter crew?

I thought we came out pretty good, the bottom two lines especially. A couple of bad giveaways but really, a ridiculous double deflection goal and then one huet stops 99% of the time. We'll come out even better in the 2nd. JINX Sabourin does seem to be on his way to consecutive shutouts of the :hlogo:

Big difference between Hossa and Nolan. Nolan was what, 35 when that deal was made? Hossa is 28 and still in his prime. If we sign him longterm then he is a top contributor for us for the next 5 or 6 years. IMO we can't worry too much about disrupting chemistry when talking about bringing in a player like Hossa. It's not like Hossa would disrupt the Pleks line, it would only disrupt the Koivu line, which let's face it, needs to be disrupted. As was just mentioned on the Team 990, I'm sure Gainey will sit down with a few of the leaders of this team (Koivu, Kovalev) before making a deal and run it by them. Especially a deal that would bring in a guy like Hossa or Sundin.

Hossa wouldnt cost nearly as much as Jokinen. IMO he's the best option for us. The guy is such a horse, plays in all situations and would give us some good size on the wings. Having said that, any one of Sundin, Hossa or Jokinen would be incredible. Tanguay is the one guy we're rumoured to be after that i don't think we need him. Small and pass-first is something we have lots of. Though Ryder and a 2nd or 3rd round pick wouldn't be a whole lot to give up.

Just finished watch Express, it was about as emotional as it was the first time. Really noticed the crowd even more now that we weren't all yelling at the TV after every goal. Wow what a win, I had tears welling up after Kovy's tying goal....

I could see someone taking a chance on Emery or even someone taking Gerber as their backup. Of course then your helping out a rival... Well a Huet trade could involve on the big 4 couldn't it? I'm not sure if your including Prospal in that or Boyle, Boyle doesn't appear to be on the move but there's plenty of rumours going around about Prospal and Richards.

Im very sorry to hear about your grandfather Cataclaw. Regarding the game, if Hollweig tries anything cheap on one of our stars and it's a suspendable offense, then the NHL needs to seriously look into suspending the coach. The warning signs are there based on his comments, just as they were in the Bertuzzi situation. Let's hope nothing of the sort goes on. Let's also hope the Habs can solve the Rags so we don't get swept.

The question of who would want Huet is a pretty intriguing one. To me, there are a few teams in the east who have goaltending issues, but whether they would go out and acquire Cristobal is a good question. How comfortable is Ottawa right now with their goaltending situations? Emery has been better of late but can you really rely on that character? What about Washington? Kolzig hasnt been very good and Huet might give them a boost that they need to win the SE. Both of those teams are playoff-bound, but the best possibilities might lie in teams that will likely miss. Tampa and LA both have major goaltending issues. Yes Huet is a UFA, but I think the advantage of being able to negotiate with him before anyone else might be significant enough for them to have interest. This is all very risky of course, and it's times like these that I'm glad I don't have to make some of the decisions that Bob has to make.

It really appears, at least to me that we're giving Price a trial run before the deadline to possibly trade Huet. I don't know if it will happen, but if the Kid continues to shine over the next few games i think we should pursue the possibility of a trade.

I hope to remember this day forever as the night that Carey Price arrived as a top goalie in the NHL. It probably wasn't the plan, but i think we have to give him the start tomorrow night. You don't sit a player who's on a streak of over 100 minutes! GO :hlogo: GO
