  1. Options? There are a few to be signed, but I've actually switched my opinion on this and now say that Danis should be given the spot. If he proves he's capable, Huet is traded for a pick. If he falters, he only has to last till Huet comes back. I know that if Huet is traded then Garon was basically traded straight up for Bonk, but he was really only going to be a habs till Danis was ready. If Danis proves capable earlier than expected, I'm happy. Any thoughts?
  2. The Leafs won't be too bad this year. They just got younger and kept their size. I'm not saying they'll be as good as last year, but they won't drop off the face of the earth like some have predicted.
  3. Agreed. The only argument for Dags playing 4th line would be that he should be under Steve Begin's tutelage for how to play the game.
  4. How much was his qualifying offer? like half a mil? thats way too low Agreed. He over produced last year for what he was paid. That alone is reason enough to give him a Ribiero-like contract for one year.
  5. Dags isn't a 4th line player. He doesn't use his size, and he doesn't play D. And really, if he could do either pretty well he'd still be on the second line as a solid sniper, rather than just a one trick pony: "Hey ma, watch me hit a mosquito off the cross bar from forty feet away" If Vinny signs, he gets the second line and Dags gets bumped to pressbox player, and he also keeps a prospect down one more year, or forces a trade of Hossa/Plekanec/Hainsey because they can't go back down to the AHL. No Vinny, please.
  6. The top line that strikes fear into opponents hearts!!! Hear us roar! BULIS! JUNEAU! DACKELL! Muahahahahahahaa! ...hey, why is everybody laughing?
  7. Does the Kipper signing give us a better idea of what Theodore might sign for? Or am I asking for an apple to be compared to an orange?
  8. Yep. Anyways, Valeri Bure signed with LA
  9. It's a good deal for them really. He's coming at a bargain price, and if he stays healthy then there is no doubt he'll put up astounding numbers. It's a risk for sure, but a good risk. It's not like he's sticking around forever. It's a one year deal. I think the Leafs won't be that bad a team this year. Lindros - Sundin - O'Neil Tucker - Allison - Antropov/Ponikarovsky/Stajan/Another bargain UFA That's not horrible.
  10. That's jumping the depth chart a bit isn't it? I'd expect Danis to get the next shot at a role on the Habs.
  11. I auditoned for Slipknot once. I tried drumming on some trash cans with bowling pins. They said I still sounded too good to be in the band. True story* *Not a true story
  12. I believe the Habs have 8 d men signed at the moment. That would require two guys traded (and for what) if Hamrlik is signed. I already think a trade is gonna happen. The Habs just have too many players this year.
  13. Exactly. I'd be pissed off if they bought him out, because then we might as well have traded Garon for Huet :nono:
  14. I like the price, and I like the contract length. This is basically gonna be a one season audition. He has a chance to show his dedication to the team and his improvement. And quite frankly, I think he'll impress those that aren't so negatively close-minded about him. Whether he is worth sticking around for another year is dependant foremost by the production of youth behind him and, to a lesser degree, just how much better a hockey player he is. I'm glad he's back...for now.
  15. Talks with Theodore are supposed to start today (monday) but other than that it's been silent.
  16. Nothing so far. I like every move Gainey has done (aside from drafting Price, but that I have learned to accept.)
  17. And given the chance, I would. However, I don't have that chance, so I do the next best thing... I ask you guys :/)
  18. I know he spent some time in Europe, but not much. What was he doing the rest of the year? Was he sitting around playing NHL 2005 and wondering why there wasn't a Create a Player? Or was he working on his skating? Shooting? Interviews? I'd like to know, cause it would really help me gauge his dedication to the Habs, and to the sport. If he spent the summer working on his skating, I'd be ecstatic. Let's face it, if the guy could skate and play D, we'd love him. So any word?
  19. Wouldn't "angles and odds" hinder a big goalie adapting to the new changes? They've been relying on taking up more space rather than having the speed and reflexes of a smaller goalie. All they've had to do was pad themselves like the Michelin Man and then learn the angles. I think the smaller, faster goalies will do better than the bigger guys because they won't have to adapt as much.
  20. I can see Bulis having a breakout year and getting the 2nd line job... But 1st line is a tad lofty
