  1. Me too.. I'd have prefered to be born before september though... being drafted in 1999 I could have made it... although I never played in a hockey team
  2. Don't say bye too soon, BG don't wanna see him go, he made him an offer, but the offer was under the qualif amount so ward becomes a UFA... doesn't mean that we won't sign him at 450k when he'll see that there are no takers at 700k
  3. Is he the american Simon Gagné? OMG... (singing that with a mix of pauly shore's wease voice and Fez "i'm going to do it" ) Higgs is going to the olympics, Higgs is going to the olympics, Higgs is going to the olympics, Higgs is going to the olympics :king:
  4. I was thinking about big buddies not using their size nearly enough and having difficulty to skate... to compare Ryan to that guy you know... so I thought about LeClair... which is good... But wouldn't it be so funny if Ryan turns out to be a dags at NHL level
  5. The problem was a combo of switch in managment and of theo taking a bit longer to develop. Serge Savard wanted to trade Roy for Fiset and Nolan, Fiset closing the 3-4 years gap between Roy and Theo... But he got fired and Houle traded Roy and Keane for some dump and Joc Thibault, who wasn't a fill in during a 3-4 years gap as Fiset would have been... Yes T-bo was a bit better, but thing is, Theo didn't have starter duties untill 2001 and that was because Jeffie was always injured. so you're right about the 10 years, but it was planned to be otherwise, Houle just screwed it up... as usual.
  6. So guess what? they went BPA again and again... I'm starting to think that Habs draft relying on the BPA strategy... just a feeling though I might be wrong.
  7. Danis can make it to the NHL, just as Garon. They both can become starter too (they still have to prove it) but nothing is elite about them. Two Patrick Lalime IMO nothing to win a cup or to rewrite history. Now Price... He's in Theo's class minimum... because of size and mental thoughness, he might reach the supra elite class. a scout in a RDS article said that Price was the best Junior goalie he had seen in the last 10 years ( Luongo?)
  8. If you want to see a network rating Price at #5, then go to Sportsnet! Might be??? Only might be... Come on man, although he's not a sure shot, HE IS CLEARLY A STEAL look at the other guys taken around that spot and find one who has as much upside than Latendresse... But I know you love him, I'm just stirring the pot Yeah, the teams now only have two years to sign euro players. And sometimes these guys make a lot of money in their country and don't want to sign anything untill they are guaranteed to play in NHL and even then, the entry level salary could be lower than what they are already earning... Like Korneev, maybe one of the best european blueliner prospect of the habs is said to be earning over 1M in Russia...
  9. Can I print it and post it on my wall as "Best Beckham's post" or as "First good thing Beckham says about the habs" :/) I feel strange, but I agree with almost everything you say :king: Only thing though is that, although I also think " You could flip a coin between the two", There is a BIG, MAJOR difference in Ryan and Latendresse's game... which is the physical game. While Ryan might have slighltly better hands than Latendendresse, Latendresse physical game is far far far far beyond Ryan's ... nowhere have I read about the way he hits or his overall game... kinda like Leclair, a Big strong guy who goes in front of the net and doesn't move from there... While I see Latendresse maybe more as a bertuzzi, hitting to hurt, picking fights once in a while working hard in the corners, giving troubles to the dmen etc... All in all, Not only I'm sooooooo glad we picked Latendresse over Ryan, but I prefer him over Ryan...
  10. Foot is not fast already... and he's getting older... depends what you want. if you want a guy only for one year, then Foote is you man. If you want a beer buddy for Souray for the next 5 years or more, then the obvious quality/price solution is Aucoin Aucoin is so similar to Souray, I think that we can't go wrong by signing him, they could either make a terrific duo or complete each of Komi's and Markov pairng very well.
  11. Here you cand find a Dancing cucumber lol : http://www.realdealstubblefield.com/forums...milies_list.php But it's the same one as the banana, except it's green. There's also a dancing carrot and a dancing chili pepper lol I like the Google smilie.. there's some others funny one too Thanks, you're my hero
  12. I don't buy it, he can't tell the press before telling the players, so he says that all players will receive a qualif... but im pretty sure that 1-3 wont receive a qualif or will sign a lower deal than the qualif (bulis will be offered less than 950k )
  13. Ryder has received his qualif last season. The others must be included in the "habs made MANY qualif ... including theo..."
  14. yeah, it's the same as "the score" I tried to post the score draft center link on the main page, but it didn't work out...
  15. Mark Flood is the most notable. He really didnt want to play for us, he rejected a contract offer before the lockout from us, and now one after it. Yeah, I noticed it in the updated lapierre-bonneau article...
  16. :ghg: cheers man, life is fun :king:
  17. Is there anyway that you could steal the dancing banana from hfboards? go there and type  it's the best smiley ever...
  18. Thanks, a shame that there are no dancing bananas in there cause this would be worth it... me too :guru: :king: [Edited on 2005/7/29 by alexstream]
  19. Yup and it doesn't mention whether these are qualificative offers or not... but in lapresse, it appears that these were qualificative offers.
  20. Are you talking about Golden Ribs?
  21. BG negotiating tight : Kovalev 3.5M Aucoin 3M ------------------- 6.5M projected payroll as I calculated with tight offers to RFAs is 29M, otherwise, it's 31M so we add the 6.5M between 35.5 and 37.5 @35.5M we can afford a Marty Lapointe at 2M... but that's in the very best scenario... which wont happen... so maybe then, don't re-sign a bulis to allow you some space for a Lapointe? there is also Gratton who's underrated (actually it's true!) people overhyped him, expected 30 goals from him and 1st line production... but he can't do that... he can however deliver the goods on the 3rd line for the right price.. he's huge and somewhat physical.
  22. What about the other guys of the 2003 class? anyone we didn't sign and will therefore lose?
  23. Aren't you the one who's preaching so hard on Carter? Lapierre was ranked ahead of Carter in 2003... I think he has the potential to be an awesome 3rd line Center... Not Bonneau though, you have to have a minimum of skills to reach the NHL
