  1. The cost of living in Manhattan is crazy...that can't be it this time.
  2. Doesn't the new CBA have a restriction on young players salary wise...bonuses excluded? Before the latest CBA entry level contracts were usually 2-way contracts with roughly 1 million given for the NHL salary...this usually prevented players from not signing and going back into the draft. Komisarek, Hainsey, Hossa, etc all were being paid roughly 1 mill but guys that got drafted last year were getting less. Maybe Higgins has to take a small pay cut as he only played 1 year...but bonusues for goals etc. can be added. I could be way off.
  3. Words cannot explain how dissapointed I am right now. Screw you Shanny, time to prove you wrong.
  4. what is equally interesting is that Detroit felt a need to make offers to Lindros and Allison....please tell me this is because Shanny won't re-sign. :king:
  5. "It is believed that Shanahan has offers of between $3.25-$3.5M from the Rangers; slightly more than that to return to Detroit; and significantly larger than that from Montreal. Despite reports elsewhere, neither the Kings nor the Bruins are in the hunt. And despite the fact that the Rangers are currently offering less than his other two suitors, Shanahan, who began his career in New Jersey in 1987 and is expected to make a decision no later than early next week, is known to be intrigued by the opportunity to play on Broadway. " This should confirm it (that the Habs are the "other team"), Thanks The first paragraph is a bit confusing but it looks as if Montreal has by far the highest offer.
  6. we can be certain it is either Montreal or LA. St. Louis and Boston are both out and there are very few rumours about LA. Many rumours about Montreal even from ESPN.
  7. Sign him up...5 million is what he is worth IMO. If Arnott can come close to that and Shanny was a top 10 goalscorer last year and to 25 point getter...much better than anything else on this team. Shanahan can still put up good numbers playing with Koivu or Kovalev. Looking at what other guys have signed for (Kubina, Arnott, savard etc) 5 million is what it would take...miss out on him and you won't add any significant talent to the team. I would rather spend 5 million on Shanahan than 5 million for both Sykora and Poti.
  8. Sounds like Boston is out of the running. TSN is saying that it is down to Detroit and St. Louis which I don't believe because Hadley, a Blues analyst, already said they were out of the running. It looks like it will be down to Detroit and Montreal for Shanny.
  9. There is still no guarantee he is here for the year. Perhaps teams were afraid he would hold out. Maybe (hoping) this gives him more trade value.
  10. Detroit seems to have their eyes on Belfour ar even Hasek. Florida may be an option for Aebischer.
  11. I would love to have another Centre in their but it doesn't look like it is gonna happen. This line-up doesn't look bad but let's hope everyone stays healthy. Higgins - Koivu - Ryder Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev Perezhogin - Bonk - Zednik Murray - Begin - Laraque Souray - Rivet Markov - Komisarek Bouillion - Dandenault Huet Aebischer
  12. Friesen to Calgary Halpern to Dallas
  13. no way would Sykora make that much dough...I would gag if these two....which is BS anyway...signed with the Habs.
  14. tell them your gay...they will never come back. I have only had to use that one once.
  15. very well, just wondering why your name says you are an Avs fan. As for only seeing 75 & 77 games respectively, ...I was just countering the fact the the insaneAvsfan assumed I wasn't watching the games because I said Bulis doesn't hit hard. My wife would surely disagree.
  16. ooops. Saw that there was a news conference today and assumed it was something new...
  17. Sorry if this was already posted Rob Blake signs with LA. http://www.lakings.com/
  18. Bulis has never had the hands to play on the top two lines which is why he always played on the third line. He had his chance on the top two lines and blew it. The problem with Bulis on the 3rd line is that he isn't a strong forechecker. I looked at the stats from this years play-offs and Bulis only had 6 hits in 6 games...okay for a skilled forward but not a checking forward. BTW 4 came in 1 game and he didn't have any hits in 4 games! IMO, he is a reliable all-round guy but he isn't an ideal guy in any position. In comparison...Begin had 7 hits in 2 games, Murray 9 hits, Perezhogin even had 11 hits. Sundstrom had 5 in fewer games. Guys like Begin and Murray are guys that know how to be checking forwards. Not at all...but if the Habs were your team...
  19. An insane Avs fan knows Bulis more than an insane Habs fan? Funny thing is...I watched all 82 games. And just about every single game Bulis has played in for the Habs...yes I am an addict. Bulis has wheels...and that is it. Yeah, he scored 20 goals but the failed opportunities to score far outweighed his goals...what is really funny is that not a single NHL team is rumoured interesting in this big hitter. Maybe he is only successful in Europe.
  20. Hitting and Bulis should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Coughing up puck to avoid being hit is a more like Bulis. Begin, Murray, Downey, Komisarek and Bouillion are the only guys that can use that word.
  21. maybe he does frequent this site...he has removed the rumour from Spectors.
  22. I updated the list and added a few other names.
  23. Hockeytraderumors shouldn't even exist. Same goes for the fourth period which doesn't update it's website very often... Spectors usually only posts snippets from decent sources...he fell asleep on this one.
  24. We can rule out Guerin and Witt. Guerin went to St, Louis and Witt to the Islanders. no word on salaries just yet.
