Im not disappoinded one bit... why waste draftpicks and players for rentals when we can go into the playoffs strong, and then see what needs improvement and improve it for long term in the off-season with all of the new cap space we have. :hlogo: Gaineys got a good plan for this team.... I think that our Habs team has alot of good balance right now... especially in net. I truly think that if we get a top 6 forward who can put the puck in the net consistenly, and a top 4 dman we could be one of the top teams in the league. GO HABS GO!!! :hlogo:

I was watching some footage of the Habs practicing and Aebi had a mask on that had the same abomidible snowman on it but the edges and background mountains were more of the Habs blue instead of the Avs purple.. maybe thats it. :hlogo:

What really surprised me this year was the amount of draftpicks being thrown around.... there were only a few Player for Player trades.

With the newly aquired crapload of cash thanks to Lacroix.... does anybody think this is possible this offseason? Trade a combination of Ribs, or Sundstrom, Zednik, or whoever.. for Bertuzzi. Resign the good RFAs(Ryder, Higgins, etc.) and Bulis(who will be a UFA). And sign UFAs to give us this... Selanne(UFA), Koivu, Bertuzzi Perezhogin, McCauley(UFA), Kovalev Higgins, Plekanec, Ryder Begin(UFA), Bonk, Bulis Souray, Markov Rivet, Markov(Danny-UFA) Gauthier(UFA), Dandenault Huet(UFA) / Aebischer This would probably cost 42 Million with Theos salary gone. :hlogo: Anyways, what do u think?

Sorry Im back so late... im sure everybody knows whats happened so far tonight so ill update it again early in the morning since im in Atlantic time. :hlogo: Personaly i think if we can get Bert somehow without losing too much D... then Ribs and possibly 2nd pick for Mark Bell would be great. Some rumours have Anason to the Laughs so they'll need another center. And some kind of upgrade to the D corps would be nice. But not Weinrich.. too old.

Since this is a trade thread i figured that i should post what Spector has reported as of 6:00 ET. Roloson is now an Oiler for a first round pick and conditional player. Leafs traded picks for Luke Richardson of the Blue Jackets (Possibly setting up an exit for McCabe) Rangers traded Ville Niemenen? to San Jose. Ill update this later tonite with anything new i find. :hlogo:
