  1. Correct, all games are on CBC. I've posted a Round 2 schedule (including TV) in the HW 3 Stars article.
  2. Fleischmann didn't skate with a line in particular at practice so he's not 100% out but that seems to be the sense. The other 4 scratches stayed on the ice after practice, safe to say they will be scratched. One of the Washington sites has Spacek listed as doubtful for this one but it still sounds like he's a GTD. Washington stat of the day: The Caps have lost 3 straight in regulation only once this season (here's hoping we can make it 2 tonight).
  3. Refs for tonight are Brad Watson and Dan O'Halloran. For the conspiracy theorists out there, here's the penalty situation from the games they've reffed this series: Game 1 (Watson): 4 PP's, 4 PK's Game 2 (O'Halloran): 3 PP;s, 3 PK's
  4. RDS reporting Spacek will play (unless my limited French is incorrect): http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/298076.html No one else is reporting that yet though so I won't pencil him in the lineup just yet; Habs skate around 11:30 this morning, should know more then. I have, however, updated the Washington lines, Scott Walker apparently will make his Washington playoff debut tonight.
  5. Projected lines for Montreal: Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Cammalleri Plekanec A. Kostitsyn Markov O'Byrne Moen Gomez Gionta Hamrlik Subban* Pouliot Moore Lapierre Gill Gorges Bergeron* Metropolit Pyatt Halak Price Other Notes: Injuries: Mara, Spacek (GTD)* Scratches: Darche, S. Kostitsyn, Laraque, Maxwell Projected lines for Washington: Left Wing Centre Right Wing Defence/Goalies Ovechkin Backstrom Knuble Schultz Green Laich Morrison Semin Alzner Carlson Chimera Belanger Fehr Morrisonn Corvo Walker Gordon Bradley Varlamov Theodore Other Notes: Injuries: Jurcina, Poti Scratches: Erskine, Fleischmann, Laing, Sloan, Steckel Game time: 7:00 PM EST TV: TSN, RDS Radio: CJAD,CKAC Game 6 Highlights:
  6. I stand corrected...no history here after all.
  7. Something interesting to note - we could have a situation where one conference is the exact inverse of the other. If Detroit and Montreal win their respective game sevens, we'd have this: East: Seeds 4, 6, 7, 8 in, 1, 2, 3, 5 out West: Seeds 1, 2, 3, 5 in, 4, 6, 7, 8 out Not sure if that's ever happened before or not...perhaps "History will be made" here.
  8. That's my working theory, I'm just not sure I want to sit down and look up who was healthy/hurt at the time of the 4 Washington recalls. I see nothing in the CBA that shows that their current situation leads to emergency conditions. Edit: None of the press releases for their recalls designate them as injury callups, however, I suspect Carlson's back on March 3rd may have been as Corvo was dealt that day and Washington did have a game.
  9. If that's the case, then Washington management obviously knows a loophole that Montreal management does because it's the same situation - both teams used their 4 callups and both teams have healthy scratches, so no emergency situation arises. I better pull open the CBA and read that section over again...
  10. Washington fans are getting a little antsy by the sounds of it, the club actually shut down their message board. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsb...ssage_boar.html
  11. Good point. Theoretically though, does the fact that they have healthy scratches (Morrison, Walker, Erskine, and Sloan) eliminate the emergency situation? I'd think it would. McPhee seems to think they could make a recall though, not sure how that's possible based on the scratches.
  12. Interesting to note here, I don't think Washington has any callups remaining (meaning a guy like Alzner can't come up to take his spot). Instead, they'll be stuck with either Sloan/Erskine. Their 4 post-deadline recalls in case anyone cares: March 3: John Carlson (this was on deadline day, Pyatt was recalled then as well) March 28: Mathieu Perreault April 6: Jay Beagle, Karl Alzner (both were sent down the next day, a dumb move in hindsight to even call them up).
  13. Looking at the shot chart from yesterday's game, I noticed an interesting trend - all 3 goals (excluding the ENG) were to the right of the right faceoff dot. They're the only 3 goals from the series in that area, wonder if the Habs may have stumbled on something here? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sport...als/shot-chart/ (Defaults to Game 6 results, but can be filtered for any game and any player.)
  14. The Bulldogs won their 1st round series on Sunday night and are off until Thursday. (We find out tonight who they play...) Who's to say that Bergeron doesn't come out of the lineup if Spacek returns? MAB played just 1 non-PP shift last night, Subban saw roughly double the ice time he did. If Spacek is good to go, I think they could easily make Subban the 7th D who sees about 6-8 minutes, half on the PP and half spelling a not 100% Spacek.
  15. B. Morrison is out for this one, Steckel in. Lines have been updated in the first post.
  16. Washington notes: Morrisonn will return to the lineup, I presume for Sloan. David Steckel is also supposed to play, though no one has a clue who comes out. I've tossed him in the lineup but your guess is as good as mine as to who comes out. (Tomas Fleischmann may also sit). Semin didn't skate today but is expected to play. This much I do know, the plan is to change 2 or 3 of their lines so I wouldn't count on these lines being particularly accurate.
  17. Fine, a blend of the best of all 3 then.
  18. Ray Bourque? That's putting it nicely, I get the sense they expect Bobby Orr and Paul Coffey blended into one. Completely agree though, time to temper the expectations in a big way.
  19. I think Carlson's the more polished d-man, particularly with his overall two-way play - he's a factor both offensively and defensively. I'd put Subban's offensive game ahead of Carlson's, but Carlson's defensive game over Subban. For those near a TV/radio, Hab talk coming up on Sportsnet's Hockey Central @ Noon with the latest on the lineup moves and whatnot.
  20. Pregame audio: The media couldn't talk to Subban so instead they talked to Metropolit...about Subban. Not a bad listen, though you can tell very early on that even Metropolit isn't too familiar with PK. Considering he's only played 2 games with the Habs, I don't think anyone aside from the Hamilton recalls (Maxwell, Pyatt, and Darche) would be able to really say much about him.
  21. They re-seed after each round, BTH has it right. If we win and Buffalo wins, we get Buffalo. If we win and Boston wins, we get Pittsburgh. (Buffalo 1, Pittsburgh 2, Philly 3, Montreal 4 or Pittsburgh 1, Boston 2, Philly 3, Montreal 4) As for the bolded part, shouldn't Boston be seed 4 the way you have it (especially since they're winning)?
  22. The one small issue with playing Subban on D is that he's a lot like Bergeron; he makes a lot of bad decisions that make you pull your hair out. Granted, he makes a lot of good ones too, but is it better to go with the devil you know or the devil you don't? Also, does anyone feel safe with Hamrlik backing up any potential miscues the way he's been playing lately? (I do expect a bounce back game from him though). The AHL doesn't track ice time stats but I heard Subban's name a ton yesterday, gotta wonder if fatigue could set in, especially with overnight travel. He may be better off seeing mostly PP time and just spelling Bergeron at even strength once or twice a period.
  23. Game 6 Highlights including the goal call that Colin enjoyed so much: http://www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/media/video/id/273 Look for the Subban/Palushaj high five around the 2:40 mark...
  24. Doesn't look like it, Subban may be replacing Sergei Kostitsyn and that's all for lineup changes. Spacek, Gomez not at practice.
  25. I can confirm it; he is with the Habs, likely will dress as 7th D tonight.
