  2. I don't get that impression when I read the rule, though your explanation certainly makes sense. Sadly, I can't copy/paste from the CBA so here's a screenshot of the rule: I find it specifically says 4 recalls, not 4 roster moves. The 3rd transaction is actually a hidden Pyatt one, who was recalled and demoted back on March 3rd for reasons inexplicable to me. The thing is, this isn't the first time that's happened with him this year.
  3. As much as it pains me to say it, Hershey's the team to beat this year. Late in the year, they broke the AHL record for most wins in a season. Interestingly enough, they're Washington's farm team...perhaps a Montreal/Washington rematch of sorts in the AHL finals?
  4. I agree (and heard he's a solid pick) but if I were to rank the Bills' needs, RB wouldn't have been my focus. Didn't know Lynch wants out either.
  5. Well, did anyone see a running back for Buffalo coming? Do they not still have Lynch/Jackson? I know nothing about any of these guys but that pick has me scratching my head. Broncos moving back and are apparently set to take Tebow at 24...
  6. Yep, just read through the CBA, the 4 recall rule is off "...upon completion of the regular season and playoff schedule of the club to which they (in this case, the Bulldog players) were Loaned." (Article 13.12 (l)(iii)) In other words, I just pulled a Don Cherry...ranted before gathering the facts; my bad, sorry. Essentially, when the Bulldogs are eliminated, the 4 recall rule goes away. I think the Habs still have a chance, but boy I wouldn't get my hopes up about us calling up the farm this year. Hamilton can eliminate the Moose tomorrow which means their 2nd round wouldn't start for a little while, that would negate some of the potential worries about spending that 4th call up (of which I can only find 2 myself, Subban would be the 3rd by my count).
  7. To the best of my knowledge, yes. If other teams can pull their farm teams up without issue, so can the Habs; unless (and this caveat may be there) teams can bring up their guys only when eliminated. If that's the case, then the limit still may be in place. (Goes and reads his copy of the CBA looking for answers before making a fool of himself further...)
  8. Incorrect, that went away when the playoffs started; most people don't seem to know that though. In fact, Buffalo called 8 players up early this afternoon. Callups are unlimited from here on in.
  9. As long as that petition also had $6 million with it to buy out the rest of his deal, then sure, they might listen.
  10. I read somewhere that he's on a preliminary short list of candidates for the Jackets, though the Habs would have to give him permission to talk to them first. Heck, that may be better off for Boucher, go learn the ups and downs of the league first...then come to Montreal (fewer growing pains that way).
  11. Sure it saves cap room but the players still actually have to be paid - I don't know about you but I don't see the Molsons willing to pay $13.5 million next year to those 2 in the AHL. In fact, I'll go as far as saying it will not happen under any circumstance. I'm not on the fire Martin bandwagon; 1 AHL year I don't think is enough for someone to step in at the NHL level right away, especially in Montreal where rookie coaches have a tendency to get eaten alive (we've seen enough examples over the years). We/management know where the flaws are on this team in the system that it currently plays; rather than change the system and go through a whole extra year of adjustments, change a couple of players to ones who better complement that system. It's certainly the cheaper way to go cost wise and doesn't throw the organization into another state of uncertainty - what if Boucher doesn't work out? Then what? With Martin, the players will know what to expect going into next season and can train accordingly which will put the team in much better shape coming out of camp than it was this year. And after all this, we still need to remember that this season isn't over and that the Habs are showing they can (for the most part) keep up with the team who finished 1st overall in the league. Let's get through the remaining game(s) of this season before we start the organizational overthrow many seem to be clamouring for. The season is not yet over.
  12. Also unsportsmanlike conduct...no clue where it came from considering he was on the bench.
  13. Subban scores to cut the deficit to 1! Palushaj/Desharnais the helpers.
  14. Bulldogs tied it at 2 in the 2nd but now trail 4-2, Desjardins with another off night. Sanford, please get better soon...Glumac (changed from Stevenson) and Trotter the goals.
  15. Apparently (reading through Twitter), Darche isn't in the warmup, Sergei is. Spacek confirmed a no-go, Bergeron to forward.
  16. Leave it to me to take Malkin over Crosby, just to be different...what was I thinking?
  17. In case anyone actually remembered this post, Rynnas has agreed to terms on a 2-year ELC with Toronto. The Habs were in the running though. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=318903
  18. I was supposed to reply to that? I picked a cheap Washington player in my pool (in fact, the cheapest there is since there are no zero-rated players), ho hum. In other news, I'm dead last in the pool right now, shouldn't that be enough humiliation in itself?
  19. I have Howard too, but didn't star him since I figured NJ (Brodeur) would be able to win the series, I wasn't so sure with Detroit.
  20. Not sure; the article I pulled that info from says Corvo should be good to go anyways. Morrisonn not so certain.
  21. No anticipated lineup changes for Washington though both Shaone Morrisonn and Joe Corvo (just what I need, I'm already missing 2/12 players in the HW playoff pool due to injury) missed practice yesterday and are listed as questionable for this one. If they can't go, they'd be replaced by John Erskine and Tyler Sloan. If Spacek (game time decision) does not play, Bergeron will play alongside Hamrlik.
  22. Calder Cup Playoffs North Division Semi-Finals Game #4 Hamilton Bulldogs @ Manitoba Moose (Bulldogs lead the Series 2-1) Wednesday, April 21, 2010 Puck drops at 8:30pm ET Listen to the game live at www.talk820.com Fans in the Hamilton area can also watch this game live on Cable 14 TV. Game notes: Yannick Weber skated this morning and may play after missing Game 3 with an unspecified upper body injury. If he does play, I imagine Masse would come back out and Hamilton would go back to a 10/8 lineup with Anderson logging some time up front. Moose F Aaron Volpatti has been suspended for this contest and will be replaced by Dusty Collins. D Brian Salcido is out with an injury; Evan Oberg, who assisted on a goal in Game 2, draws back in.
  23. The limit goes away after the regular season, or so I interpret it. Philly the other day recalled 8 players (when the limit is 4). No cap in the playoffs either so that doesn't come in play either. If everyone was healthy in Hamilton though, I suspect Weber would be called up before Subban.
  24. Everybody's killing me. Also doesn't help that I'm down 2 players due to injury already. Brodeur and Toews have been major disappointments so far.
  25. Not necessarily, both were collegiate players this season. Leblanc, if he and the organization both wanted, could sign tomorrow for all we know. (Doubtful, but they are at least coming from similar situations).
