  2. THE DEADLINE IS TOMORROW!!! I still have to receive entries from some of you, I've only received 2 so far (not including my own). Read the original message for more details. Good luck!
  3. 3.3 mil is what Koivu made last season, it's not what we're giving him. More than likely, he'll get a deal worth 4-5 mil.
  4. WOO! 1 for 1 so far! Desjardins and Lapointe re-signed with the Flyers today, both 2-year deals. Click here

  6. It's not confusing because the dates are exactly one month after the other. You know that the 1st of the months (June/July) are "free agency dates". You're just having an off-day I guess.
  7. That may be true for most of them, but Koivu's contract at $3.3 mil is accurate based on last year's figures. It would take 3.63 mil to qualify Koivu.
  8. Technically, he isn't our property now, as he became a free agent June 1st, and was free to sign with any other team (just like Kiel McLeod). The fact that he's with the team tells me that the two parties may have agreed to let him go for now and sign him at a later date (in order to concentrate on signing other guys like Archer/Milroy).
  9. According to my salary sheet from THN, it would take 1.24 mil to qualify Kilger, $1,127,360 was what he made last season. Also, the CBA requires a 10% increase for a qualifying offer, not 15%. I say qualify Kilger at 1.24 mil, he's not that bad sometimes and he'd be a quality "sub" if someone were to be injured long-term rather than calling someone up from Hamilton. (I've read the same article you have puck, and the majority of the players' salaries are incorrect-Markov, Kilger, Ribeiro and perhaps Dwyer-I can't find what he makes. The only accurate one seems to be Koivu.)
  10. An interesting player on this list is D-man Matt Shasby. Last time I checked, we didn't sign him, thus making him a UFA. Obviously, we have signed him, or we're intending to sign him, which is good news IMO. I really like the fact we invited Adam Paiement. I've seen this player in the past, and I really liked him, he is a big-gamer, as his playoff totals show. Hopefully we'll sign him to a contract, although I doubt we will since seldomly do we ever sign any invitees from this camp.
  11. I received your entry puck, you're good to go. I'm not too surprised by your entry, mine is similar in that not many moves are made, the team should focus long-term instead of short-term which it likely will.
  12. I'm not saying more, I'm saying some do. Believe me, I'd like to see an Expo thread, it'd give us one more thing to talk about during this long offseason.
  13. The main point of my thread is that simply whenever I talk to someone about my baseball team, they always mention I should post about it, so I do. Pretty much as simple as that.
  14. According to TSN.ca, it'd be Tatis going the other way + something else. I can't see it being a pitcher, as that's the one thing we need most. The last thing the 'Spos need is a rotation of Vazquez, L.Hernandez, Vargas, Kim, ____ (Drew, Reames, or someone else.) Gonzalez can reject the trade also, so it may not happen. (Habs77, is my baseball thread really that boring? There is Expo stuff merged into there as well, although I'm not quite sure why...)

    Baseball

Well, I was hoping to wait until we won another league game before posting again in this thread, however, I'm beginning to feel this may not happen, so I'm posting now. We've lost our last 4 games by a combined score of (26-8). Our record in the previously mentionned tournament was 1-2, finishing 6th overall out of 9, but winning no money. This coming weekend, we're in yet another tournament, the national qualification tournament for players aged 16/17. It's a 21 team tourney, and the top 2 make the nationals. Our first game is Friday afternoon vs Grafton at 3:00 PM, so I won't be around for a few days starting then. (if we lose, I'll be back on Saturday, so you never know.) Click here for the full tournament schedule.

Hope this helps everyone!
  17. I've recieved your entry sakiqc, and for the most part it was well done. I sent you a U2U explaining the changes that need to be made, as well as some suggestions on how to lower your payroll.
  18. I've been extremely busy lately (the draft, exams, regular season baseball, baseball tournaments as well as working off community service hours (government curriculum mandate) ) so I haven't had much time to work on one. Now that the draft has come and gone, I will get working on it and have one up as soon as possible, so any suggestions will have to be made in the next couple of days. (I'm hoping to have one up on Tuesday.) (Also puck, if you're looking for a sample trade, I put one in the original message, which may help you out a little bit.) [Edited on 2003/6/24 by dlbalr]
  19. Click here Russian text isn't supported, so here's the translation: If anyone's wondering, this section is directly below the part that says detroitredwings.com, which not surprisingly, is the only part I actually understood in that article.
  20. I'll take the Als, Roughriders, Ti-Cats and Blue Bombers this week.
  21. I too am a CFL fan, particularly of the Als. Sadly, I hardly get a chance to see them on TV, as I don't get RDS. Thus, I don't know a whole lot about them, so I don't post about them.
  22. The main reason it surprised me is that he likely would have gotten good playing time in Hamilton next season, given our current lack of depth at C. (Higgins, Gratton, Plekanec (though he IS a left winger), then who?) It doesn't really bother me that he's gone, it just kind of kept me off guard.
  23. Petrov has exercised his option (or the team has exercised his), so he is no longer a UFA. Also, Krupp has retired and Ricci has has his option picked up.
  24. Click here Well, now we know Johnson's going to be on the move, with Sanford/Divis ready from Worcester.
  25. I listened to a bit of the game, we jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, and then promptly blew it before the end of the period; needless to say I was not impressed. Conklin is really struggling out there, perhaps Fichaud should get the next start to maybe screw up Houston for a bit. We need to play better team defence, I have no idea where that went the last few games...
