  1. Quick write-up with stats: http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2735 Cap hit of $575k, salary of $600k, Habs will be responsible for the pro-rated portion of $287,500 for the rest of the season.
  2. This is me openly speculating here but I'd have to think this deal could've been done in the afternoon. If they wanted to claim one of the waived players though, the deal had to be done by noon. Perhaps a claim is coming? Yes.
  3. Correct. Very quick write-up on the deal: http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2734
  4. This looks as if it was the other part of the Gill trade that didn't do down at the time. In the end, it's 2 2nd's, Geoffrion, and Slaney (bleh) for Gill and Kostitsyn. Not a thrilling return but given Kostitsyn's complete uselessness as of late, that seems to be fair value.
  5. Just want to point out there is a separate trade thread on this move.
  6. 2nd in 2013, MTL 5th in 2013 from the Gill deal.
  7. Deal is done according to RDS/TSN/SNET, no word on the return.
  8. Kostitsyn deal is done, no word on the return yet.
  9. Any last requests for the Twitter ticker? (I'm glad it seems to be working so far...)
  10. <p> <img border="0" src="http://www.thefourthperiod.com/trade_deadline/tradedeadline2012.gif" width="566" height="263"></p> <p> </p> <p>The NHL's Trade Deadline is just hours away and with the Habs sitting dead last in the Eastern Conference, it's somewhat safe to assume the Habs are going to be selling. This is the place to be to get the news as it happens. The Twitter Trade Ticker has been customized to our posters' requests (plus some of my own picks) that will give you all the insights of the day. For those looking for the chat feature from last year, we've disabled it on here as we have the chatroom on here.</p><br> <p><font color="#000080"><b>Twitter Ticker</b></font></p> <i>(Make sure to click the live updates button at the top.)</i><br> <p><iframe src="http://www.coveritlive.com/index2.php/option=com_altcaster/task=viewaltcast/altcast_code=f97d0dbafd/height=600/width=500" scrolling="no" height="600px" width="500px" frameBorder ="0" > <a href="http://www.coveritlive.com/mobile.php/option=com_mobile/task=viewaltcast/altcast_code=f97d0dbafd" >2012 NHL Twitter Trade Ticker</a></iframe></p> <p><i>(I have left a few spots open for any last minute additions/requests.)</i></p><br> <p><font color="#000080"><b>Habs' Deadline Day History</b></font></p><br> <p> <img border="0" src="http://www.hockeyinsideout.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/trade-day-deals.jpg" width="588" height="685"></p><br> <p><font color="#000080"><b>HW's Pre-Deadline Coverage</b></font></p><br> <p>If you haven't already, catch yourself up with some pre-deadline reading.</p><br> <p><u>Deadline Previews</u> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2728">Prospects</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2729">Defence</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2731">Forwards</a><br> <u>Value Series</u> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2726">Maximum Value</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2727">The Others</a><br> <u>Around the Boards</u> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2701">Campoli</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2717">Moen</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2704">Weber</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2730">Kostitsyn</a><br> <br> <i>Be sure to check the site tomorrow as we have one final pre-deadline article that will go online then.</i></p><br> <p><font color="#000080"><b>Other Links</b></font></p><br> <p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.tsn.ca/tradecentre/feature/?id=9003">2012 Draft Picks by Team</a><br> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.tsn.ca/tradecentre/feature/?id=10407">Trades by the Numbers</a> (# of trades, # of players) <br> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/trades/trade_tracker/"> Pre-Deadline Deals</a></p><br> <p>This thread will be to discuss the NHL deals that don't involve the Habs (feel free to start Hab-specific trade threads if and when they break).</p>
  11. He would've been a UFA at the end of the season and I'm pretty sure he cleared waivers at the beginning of the year.
  12. Yeah, that's the plan. If/when a trade breaks, we have a couple of writers on standby who will be doing the writeups on the site but this will be setup for people who want to be around all day or just pop in from time to time (I'm going to try to set the ticker to archive everything unlike the one on the site).
  13. I edited my post to give the closest examples from last year I could find quickly skimming the stats.
  14. Joe Malone in 1917 had 44 goals and 4 assists. I'm pretty sure he was a top-6 forward. I'm sure there's a more modern answer somewhere... Nik Zherdev had only 6 assists with Philly last season and saw some top-6 minutes. Ryan Jones had 18-7 last year playing nearly 14 minutes which is 2nd-ish on some teams. Those are the 2 closest from last year; I know Marek Svatos came close with a 26-11 season a few years ago.
  15. Well, time to forget about this one (although I think we'll have a postgame article tonight), I'm going to start working on the 'Twitter Trade Ticker' and put together our little deadline central page (which will be on the forum this year).
  16. 6-1 late 3rd now, Stafford with the goal. Edit: Goal changed to Nattinen.
  17. Scoring 3 in 38 seconds will only make it 5-3. Nicolas Deschamps is having a great game, 2 goals and 3 assists through 2. Mayer was in to start the 2nd.
  18. I don't think it'll be happy input. 3-0 Toronto after 1.
  19. There are rumblings now that Theodore will start despite playing last night as well. Edit: TSN990 reporting it will be Clemmensen.
  20. His ELC slid last year so he still has a couple years of waiver exemption after this one. He'll play as the starter in Binghamton again next year I assume and then when Bishop's deal is up they can decide then on the plan.
  21. It's the final game for the Bulldog players to make a statement to management that they should be brought up if trades happen as they travel to Toronto to take on division leading () Toronto. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Andreas Engqvist (16) Assists: Frederic St-Denis (21) Points: Andreas Engqvist (31) PIMS: Zack FitzGerald (186) +/-: Ian Schultz (+6) Lines: Geoffrion-Engqvist-Nattinen DeSimone-Willsie-Schultz Lefebvre-Berger-Avtsin FitzGerald-Lampe-Slaney St-Denis-Stafford Henry-Callahan Mitera-Fast Lawson Active scoring leaders: Goals: Ryan Hamilton (21) Assists: Mike Zigomanis (34) Points: Mike Zigomanis (49) PIMS: Kelsey Wilson (79) +/-: Marcel Mueller (+11) Puck drop is at 5:00 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
  22. I know some of these proposals are in vain but just so it's out there, that couldn't be done anyway. Coach compensation was eliminated in the last CBA.
  23. All signs point to them wanting to re-sign him after the season so I suspect he'll still be a Hab past 3 PM tomorrow. I'm just finishing the forwards section of my deadline preview and I have dropped Moen a lot further than I originally had him based on what's come out.
  24. It was also done with Geoffrion coming back the other way who was informed by Nashville's GM that he was traded but couldn't tell him where yet. (To Poile's credit, he eventually relented after Geoffrion kept badgering him about it...) This isn't a policy unique to the Habs by any stretch.
