  1. You know the drill by now - discuss the early free agent signings around the league here. Any Montreal news gets its own thread. Sounds like Lundqvist to Washington will be announced as soon as the market opens up. He was free to negotiate upon being bought out so that one isn't much surprise. There's still some time to enter our UFA pool. We don't have many entries this year as I haven't been able to keep the ballot on the main page for long stretches with everything being crammed in from the draft to signing news. https://www.habsworld.net/2020/10/2020-habsworld-ufa-pool/

  9. For what seems like the 837th time this season, the conference-leading Senators will be taking on the Rocket. Somehow, there are still three more of these matchups to go. Lines based on last game. Formenton - Szwarz - Carcone Abramov - Norris - Batherson Labate - Chlapik - Archibald Kelly - Klimchuk - Baptiste Aspirot - Labrie Murray - Dougherty Lajoie - Jaros Gustavsson Veilleux - Blandisi - Jevpalovs Lucchini - Dauphin - Lynch Alain - Vejdemo - Cox Pezzetta - Pelletier - Waked Leskinen - Juulsen Olofsson - Brook Culkin - Lamarche Primeau Puck drop is at 7:00 PM EST. 91.9 Sports has the coverage in French and the game can be seen on RDS.
  10. 31-39 Habs vs 34-34 Preds (NHL.com lines) BROSSARD- Here's a look at the forward lines and defense pairings featured at Tuesday's morning skate at the Bell Sports Complex. Byron - Danault - Armia Hudon - Domi - Gallagher Lehkonen - Suzuki - Weal Vejdemo/Drouin - Evans - Weise Chiarot - Weber Kulak - Petry Ouellet - Folin Alzner Price Lindgren Julien on lines: "We're making changes to try to find something. It doesn't mean that they're good changes or that it's the answer," explained Julien, whose squad skated at their home rink downtown because of the annual team photo. "[Joel] Armia has been having some trouble lately. [Nick] Suzuki has hit a wall, which is normal given that he's played a lot of hockey the past year. We have to try making some changes." * Forsberg & Duchene have all of 87points between them this year and Forsberg only had 50pts last year (injury shortened), kinda thought he would be a big point producer, the way he started his career.
  11. The Canadiens (31-29-9) visit Florida (33-26-8), with plenty of Habs fans guaranteed to be in the stands. The Habs' season looks to end early, but the Panthers aren't doing much better. 19. 33-28 Canucks vs 29-35 Habs Should be a pretty even game. Evans called up to fill in for Thompson I assume. 21. 27-35 Habs vs 37-22 Caps Got bad feeling we will see a 6th loss in a row..BUT
  22. After picking up three of four points against Manitoba, Laval hosts Toronto this afternoon in a huge divisional game. Both teams are part of a four-team group separated by two points or less for the final playoff spot in the division. The Marlies are ahead of Laval and have games in hand on everyone (they've played three fewer than the Rocket) so this is a critical game for them. Cayden Primeau will get his second start in less than 24 hours. (Lines are from their last game with some guesses as they've made a couple of trades since then.) Agostino - MacMaster - Aberg Wilson - Gaudet - Korshkov Baptiste - Elynuik - Read Pooley - Conrad - Veronneau Kivihalme - Duszak Gravel - Kapla Rubins - Hollowell Hutchinson (Lines are from last game with some guesses due to Blandisi and McEneny's injuries and Alzner's recall.) 23. After a road trip that was an unmitigated disaster, Laval returns home to host Manitoba for a pair of games. (Lines are from their last game.) Poirier - Spacek - Griffith Vesalainen - Gustafsson - Lipon McKenzie - Suess - Reichel Pederson - Maier - White (this is former Hab Ryan White, for anyone interested) Schilling - Nogier Stanley - Kovacevic Oligny - Gawanke Comrie (Lines are a guess with Evans returning and Varone/Barber also coming back from their benchings) Hudon - Kotkaniemi - Evans Peca - Poehling - Barber Varone - Vejdemo - Alain Veilleux - Dauphin - Lynch Alzner - Fleury Olofsson - Lamarche McEneny - Brook Kinkaid (confirmed starter for Wednesday) Puck drop is at 7:00 PM EST on Wednesday and 7:30 PM EST on Friday. 91.9 Sports has the coverage in French. 24. It's a battle of the team that wants wins and isn't getting them vs a team that doesn't want wins but seems to have no issues beating Montreal. Will both teams get their way or neither of them? 25. This ugly road trip (1 point out of 4 games so far) mercifully comes to an end for Laval today as they're in Providence to take on the Bruins (Lines are from last game.)
