JMMR
how about trading michael ryder and maybe our 2nd rounder(or our later 1st rounder if necessary) for a bigger right winger ??. lets face it, if gainey gets koivu some help, it might relegate ryder on the second line and 2nd pp unit thus making him useless. I was thinking Ryder would be traded all season when it looked as though he would not hit the 30 goal mark. But if he wil sign a multi year deal at no more than 2.5 million then I would rather have him with the Canadiens. He seems like a lock to score 30 every season and went through a real dry spell this year. I also feel he did try harder this year in the defenesive zone. The +/- numbers may not show it but he did hit a lot more this year than last.

I'm sure that he's looking for a really long term contract or just a one year deal getting UFA in 08.
smon
Well, he's had some tough negotiations with Montreal over contracts, but he is the only proven scorer on the team. I don't really envision him being traded unless there is a definite scorer being acquired from somewhere else.

He is the Canadiens only proven forward who can score on a "consistant" basis.
