Leafs Suck
Start with atleast 2 bluechiper prospects, the 1st rounder, and 1 or 2 players off the roster. Anyone else seen NHL Access during the 2001 draft? Don Waddell told Andre Savard that the Habs had "by far the best offer" for the #1 pick (Kovalchuk). They were gonna make it but thought it would be better to pick a young kid. Man, we were that close to getting Ilya Kovalchuk.
habsfan69
We were close to landing Kovalchuk? Damn
Zowpeb
It would take too much. [Edited on 2004/5/16 by Zowpeb]
Toren
Savard had offered their first round pick of that year's draft, Mathieu Garon, and Andrei Markov. Waddell wanted the pick, Markov, and Theodore.
Habby1197
The proposed trade was actually Pick #7, #25, Markov and Garon... For Kovalchuk. Coming down to Komisarek, Perezhogin, Markov and Garon for Kovalchuk... I for one am thrilled we didnt make that move.
