dlbalr
The Bulldogs (40-26-9) will look to re-take first in the division as they host the Moose (42-28-6), the team that's currently sitting in 1st. Though this won't clinch the Bulldogs' (looks like 3 points is the magic number) playoff birth, a win would be huge. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Sergei Shirokov (20) Assists: Sergei Shirokov (34) Points: Sergei Shirokov (54) PIMS: Guillaume Desbiens (100) +/-: Mario Bliznak (+15) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Nigel Dawes (38) Assists: Aaron Palushaj (32) Points: Nigel Dawes (63) +/-: Carle/Nash/Palushaj (+18) PIMS: Jimmy Bonneau (169) Puck drop is at 4:00 PM EST (so catch the game at your desk at work) and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/

dlbalr
We have a clinching scenario for Hamilton today. The Bulldogs have to win (doesn't matter if it's in regulation or not) plus an Abbotsford loss (doesn't matter if it's in regulation or not either) vs Grand Rapids. dlbalr
2 minutes in, Masse gets hurt. Not exactly the best possible start... Urquhart, Schultz, and Stejskal healthy scratches.
dlbalr
1-1 after 1, Dawes with his 39th, tying a franchise record. Masse's back as well.
dlbalr
Break out the old asterisk, as Dawes gets his 2nd of the game to take over the franchise record for goals in a season. The asterisk of course comes from the fact more than half the goals were scored with Chicago. 2-1 Hamilton, late 2nd.
dlbalr
6 minutes left in regulation, still 2-1 Hamilton.

dlbalr
Unfortunately Abbotsford won 4-2. Rats. Oh well, 1 point out of 8 should be doable for Hamilton anyway. Looking at the write-up on the Bulldogs site (also posted in HW's links), the uniforms looked a lot different. Lammy, were those alternate jerseys, special ones, or have I just been out of touch all season and not realized a jersey change?

Looking at the write-up on the Bulldogs site (also posted in HW's links), the uniforms looked a lot different. Lammy, were those alternate jerseys, special ones, or have I just been out of touch all season and not realized a jersey change? Those were a style of jerseys that the Bulldogs used to wear in the pre-game warm-ups a few years back. Last night was the annual game (always the final home game of the regular season) where the Dogs present their jerseys to the fans who won them in a draw. These jerseys are worn by the players during the game and are then given to the winners at the conclusion of the game in a ceremony out on the ice. This style of jersey has been the one used in this event for the last number of years, as well as special games such as "Pink in the Rink" to support breast cancer research. So, yes, I guess you could say that they are a special/alternate jersey.

The asterisk of course comes from the fact more than half the goals were scored with Chicago. 2-1 Hamilton, late 2nd. Isn't much of an asterisk to put there... he has not scored 40 goals for the Hamilton Bulldogs in a single season. He does not have the record. He does not have the record. I agree, but it was announced exactly as such during the broadcast, "break out the asterisk." I believe even the 1st intermission interview with Dawes discussed how he had tied the record at the time.
