With the Bulldogs (26-35-1-5) now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (although with max points they're in theory still alive, remaining head-to-head matchups from other teams do eliminate them) they now set their sights on 29th place to avoid finishing last in the AHL for the first time in franchise history. Tonight, they travel to San Antonio to take on the Rampage (29-31-2-6), a team that like Hamilton, is playing all sorts of newcomers. Tonight should mark Danny Kristo's debut.

Given the whack of newcomers for both sides recently, these lines are almost certainly to be wrong. Potential AHL debuts are italicized.

Projected Hamilton Lines:

Hudon - Tenute - Holland

Bournival - Nokelainen - Leblanc

Archambault - Belzile - Kristo

Hagel - Stortini - Quailer

Beaulieu - Pateryn

St. Denis - DeSantis

Tinordi - Ellis

Mayer

Projected San Antonio Lines:

Barlow - Hamill - Rallo

Combs - Timmins - Rheault

Wilson - Gomes - McFarland

Deveaux - Beauvillier - Ortmeyer

Petrovic - Robak

Yonkman - Racine

Miskovic - Lee

Grumet-Morris

Kristo will play on an all-rookie line with Olivier Archambault and Alex Beizile. As if they're breaking up the one line that had consistently been producing...

weird...

The good news? Hamilton leads 2-0 after 1, goals by Nokelainen and Holland. The bad news? Mayer is once again in net. What incriminating photos does he have?

The lines have been updated in the first post with what's being used tonight, Brady Vail is a healthy scratch.

I can only surmise Tokarski must be nursing an injury. On the other hand, if Dustin is hurt, he wouldn't likely be on the bench

Even when he's for sure healthy Mayer seems to get half the starts. It can't be an injury, otherwise Gervais-Chouinard would dress as the backup.

geeze=tied at 2 early in the second. Beaulieu gets caught pinching and Mayer waves at one on a screen. San Antonio seem to be head hunting tonight

Kristo gets an assist on a Belzile goal set up by Beaulieu!

Andre Deveaux cheap shots Hudon. Gets 3 minors and a game. (you see what I mean re head hunting-seem to be going after the Jr call ups)

Too bad the Bulldogs did nothing with it. It's weird regarding the head hunting, it's not as if the Rampage don't have newcomers either - they have two guys making their AHL debuts.

Beaulieu gets a shorty. Dogs win 4-2. Re the head hunting. Deveaux has been plain mean since his days with the Marlies. Stortini, in comparison, could be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

-re Holland-IMO streaky-maybe one more year in the AHL

ps-when Deveaux got the 3 minors, Tinordi got a penalty for striking Deveaux' hands with his face-lol

and what else is sad-the Dogs do well but playing in a different time zone, will miss coverage in the print version of the Hamilton Spectator

How is Holland doing? NHL material?

Brutal start to the year, much better lately (the front line - until tonight - of him, Belzile, and Tenute have been on fire in the past few weeks). He has a long way to go to be NHL ready though.

You forgot the most important thing of all... :1banana:
