Quebecois
I've been playing every once in a while with a bunch of friends and i'm pretty much hooked. I even find myself watching it on TV whenver it's on, something i never would have saw myself doing 6 months ago. Anyone else hooked on Poker? ch_nl
It seems like the whole western world is hooked on poker. I just got home from work (I work the graveyardshift) and the local poker-club has sent me a leafleet. They broadcast poker on TV and the debate this morning on the national television channel was about poker. And yes, I play some but I am at the same time a bit scared. So many sad storys involves poker so I play it very sparse.
simonus
ive been wild for poker ever since i started playing in college. I haven't gone to vegas to play, but I've played at some of the lesser casinos around the US. Lots of fun and a good way to spend your money as far as casinos go. It is one of the few games at the casino where you can "be good". You get to play other slobs. With the poker craze being so hot there are tons of really bad players sitting at the lower limit tables. My advice is the 5-10 holdem structure tables, it is the standard beginners table and holdem draws all the TV nuts. Also, holdem gives you the greatest opportunity to read odds, which is the only way to play. Anybody play internet poker? There are some good sites, many of which offer play money tables for free. I would be up for setting up a game.

I'll stick to playing house games for now, pretty harmless cuz we dont play for a whole lot of money.
Leafs Suck
I got into poker when I started working at my current job, so about a year and a half ago. I used to play online but only for fun.
alexstream
I don't wanna start it, cause I know I will get addicted... So simple yet so complex, it's a beautiful game... I prefer chess, but Poker is more social and more marketable, more accessible... I have two friends badly hooked on internet poker... but because they keep on winning ... one is doing it full time and will plans to buy a condo with his poker money in more or less 18 months... the other quitted his part time job cause he was losing money while there... lmao... but kids, don't try this at home, these two are the nearest thing I know to professional players... Trizzak
I watch it whenever I see it on the tv Which is odd I wouldn't expect to get excited watching a card game.
BTH
Yeah, it's weird. Me and pretty much everyone I know watches it on TV and there's about 1 in every 15 kids who doesn't know how to play Texas Hold 'Em. It's a card game but it's fun to watch and fun to play. And I'm only 14. Just to show that it's popular with kids too.
shortcat1
Just call me chicken-sh*t because there's NO WAY I'm going to get into that stuff. The very idea of likely losing money that I worked hard for and is needed for my family on the flip of a card or a run of bad hands or being bluffed out by some guy who's knows how to do that stuff freaks me out. I've known too many stories of destruction by that game and gambling in general.
