I just WONT believe gainey passed on the guy for 200 thousands a year of difference.. it can't be that.. i mean ive been thinking about it all day looking for reasons to believe that but i'm running out of ideas. habscout Posted August 3, 2005 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Aucoin is a good player, but I don't believe he's worth $4M / season, especially for 4 seasons. Chicago overpaid for him. There was a mention in the Gazette that the Habs are trying to get a defenceman in the $2-2.5 M range. To me, that sounds like Dandenault or Spacek.
