~moeman
They can't call back Latendresse because he went back to the QMJHL. He isn't back til next year. I don't see any blockbuster deals in the offing. Time for Babs to be patient.

option+
I'm not sure what we can do. If we want to get an asset in a trade, we're going to have to give one up. And even though we have a lot of useful players, not all of them will fetch anything in the trade market. I just don't know who can be moved for anything remotely valuable. I think it's time to give up a defensive player for an offensive player. (I hate to get the "WE LOST! TRADE EVERYONE!!! OMG!!!111one!!!" ball rolling, but this is something I've been wanting for awhile. Sunny or (LOOK AWAY BTH!! LOOK AWAY) Bulis should be on their way out for someone that can score. option+
But how good of a scorer would Sundstrom or Bulis get us? It's not like we'd be getting Dany Heatley back or something...

Bonk is a biggest negative surprise of this season (imho). Bigger than St. Louis. I didn't understand this. Such a talented young player he was and great outputs in Ottawa than. :?-

Of course, a power forward and an offensive defenceman (à la Gonchar) would be nice but we have nothing of trade value that we're willing to trade. Ribeiro has value but he also has value to this team. I don't think I'm ready to lose him. Andy Delmore would be a nice pick-up. He's cheap and great at quarter-backing the PP. He can't play defence but we have good defensive d-men (Markov, Rivet, Bouillon, Komisarek). We need someone to replace Streit (who is our PP specialist) so a better PP specialist like Delmore who plays about the same game defensively would be great. He's on minors, I think, so Columbus obviously doesn't want him. Okay, I'm ranting. Anyway, I do believe that it's time for a trade.
gohabsgo252006
Not the right thread for this, but everyone keeps talking about offence, why not pick up a guy with skills a la huselius and see if he works out here, he is on waivers. He has skills just needs to show some heart
Lister110
Yes, no trades. The quick fix won't get us anything. Better to give the impression that we are waiting things out. That way we actually can wait things out and maybe some offers might come our way. The next two months could be very hard to watch even when Kovalev gets back. I'm not sure how tradeable Bulis and Sunny are. Sunny is one of my favourite players because when I play hockey I play a similar game to his. Bulis tries all the time. Also, considering our GM is Bob Gainey and our assistant coach is Doug Jarvis, I think that type of player is valued to the organization. I don't think anyone ever brought this up on the boards before but I wonder how much one of the rookies can get us. Perezhogin, Plekanec and Higgins are not only great but young and many rebuilding teams like Florida and Columbus would want them. If we could get a good offer for say Perezhogin then I wouldn't mind it.

I'm not saying we get back someone better, but with many defensively responsible forwards I think it's worth the gamble. Give me someone that can finish on the third line and push for a second line spot when there are injuries, then I'm happy.
HABS721
Yes Lister, very hard to watch ... they have no drive. It's like they've given up, used Kovalev, Markov, Souray as excuses?? I don't know. Passes aren't crisp, stupid stupid penalties are taken left right and center ... that to me is a lack of concentration. So where's Julien ... he needs to shake those guys up ... get their drive going.

gohabsgo252006
I think Gainey needs to show them a couple of his rings...maybe that will get the juices flowing...Dandenault needs to stop taking stupid penalties, they are always brutal and i've never seen any player take more penalties while already killing penalties.... This guy is becoming a sniper. I'm watching the highlights. Alfredsson's goal is embarassing. Where's the D? Jose looked like shit on Fisher's goal. I'm not sure how he played but he let in 4 goals on 26 shots. Not the greatest stats ever. Ryder took out his frustration on Havlat. He has a dislocated shoulder and apparently it looks like 4-6 weeks. Will this slow down the Sens? Not a chance. It didn't last time. He only came back and scored 6 goals in 2 games.
