JMMR Posted January 8, 2006 Share Posted January 8, 2006 I am very impressed for the longest time crazy Lou always made it publicly known that he did not support retiring players numbers. I cannot recall his reasons for doing so, but I bet I can tell you why he has changed his mind! I do not believe Lou intends to coach much longer and I have heard whispers of Scott Stevens accepting a role to lead some of his former mates. So that explains why he would retire #4 and there is no way Lou could get away with retiring Stevens #4 without Daneyko's #3 he is a life time Devil and won 3 cup rings with that club.
