  1. I don't know if has been mentioned before but I have heard it both casually and seriously tossed around that Jagr may be coming to the Canadiens. Some of the reports are from pretty high end people in the hockey community. Not 100% sure but if I remember correctly Jeff Marek may have mentioned it.
  2. Low risk move IMO, could prove to be decent. I think he's still got some stuff to show and if he doesn't well then we are only paying him 525.
  3. I have also heard that Montreal is in on Yandle, and some of the teams they are competing against for him are looking at Suter first as they won't have to give up anything to sign the Predator's D-Man. Also reports that Montreal is a least one of the contenders in the Shane Doan thing. Again teams they are competing against may be interested more in Parise and thus Montreal will have more of an opportunity to sign him.
  4. I think Doan may want to be closer to home. But I still like the thought. I think Gio might have to give up the C.
  5. If he doesn't resign with LA I think Dustin Penner might be worth a look at least at Left Wing.
  6. I feel like Smyth might come a bit exspensive even if he isn't the player he once was.
  7. This is good. Moen really is a class bottom 6 forward and one of the players Montreal can use in all situations. I don't think are any other players on the market that are as good as Moen in his role. Maybe Brandon Prust.
  8. I would say take a pass on this one. He had one good season in which he scored over 20 goals but other then that he has been largely mediocre. There are other guys on the market who would fill the role better not to mention Montreal's own Travis Moen if they can sign him at a cheap enough price.
  9. Hey everyone, Earlier this month I am currently in the process of writing an article series on how to build a championship hockey team in the modern NHL. I was curious about the opinions of the public on this matter and thought what better way than to post a thread in the forum. You can read the first article in the series here: http://habsworld.net/article.php?id=2784 If I get enough responses I will include them in a mailbag part of the series. Thanks, Mitchell
