  1. I'm worried about the character in the room now that Prust is gone!
  2. I see Kassian as a 3rd liner but being that he is in what they call a 'contract' year this is truly a make it or break it type of year for him, usually players have monster years in those type of years. MB will pick up a top 6 winger before the season, probably wants to get Chucky signed first then go from there with what $ they have left, should be around 4.5 million.
  3. Agreed, keep Markov around, he's still more than fine on the blue line, just keep his minutes in check...let the younger studs eat those up, save AM for the PP units. And yes he will win that cup with Montreal...2 years to do it!
  4. Prust also became expendable after his comments of the officials in the playoffs, don't need the refs taking it out on the team all next year!
  5. Rumour is Montreal offered Belesky 4year, 4.5 mil/year...
  6. Something has to be brewing in Pittsburgh, no way they can have all these top salaries spent on forwards. Might just see a blockbuster deal with possibly Malkin moving out, he'd look good in a Canadiens uniform...
  7. Prust was a great soldier, will be sadly missed! Welcome Kassian, just wished Lucic was still in Boston so he could slap him around...
  8. After they bought out PAP they are left with 8.1 million. They still need to replace PAP, sign Chucky, sign a 13th forward (probably Flynn) and if they get rid of Gilbert then they have to replace him plus still need to sign a 7th defensemen. Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but my math doesn't fit Sharp's 5.9 mil/year into that cap.
  9. Chicago would have to eat some of his salary cause there's no way Montreal can fit his 5.9 mil/year under their cap...
  10. Whoever it is that MB is trading for it's gonna by Monday night (or early Tuesday) when PAP clears waivers...
  11. Yes and his name is Patrick Sharp!!!
  12. Gallagher ain't going anywhere nor should he, if everyone one this team played with as much heart as that kid they would be contending for a cup every single year, MB wouldn't be stupid enough to move him and Big Joe loves the Californian sun too much to leave and besides if he decided to leave SJ it's not going to be for a Canadian city. Kessel was an option because he actually named Montreal as a destination.
  13. I'll I know is if MB ends up getting the same average to below average players ie. Vermette/Richards just to say he made moves it's gonna be the same result as the past couple years. He needs to come up with something big perhaps huge this summer cause most of the pieces are in place (Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Gallagher, Galchenyuk) to win now and everyone else is easily movable so MB needs to make it happen... as a Habs fan who grew up watching this team realistically contend for a cup every year friggin year to the point where I was spoiled, I'm getting tired of waiting, the chance is now, right now. He could even trade Subban if it meant getting a bonified top scoring center...
  14. And as for getting Sharp, that's next to impossible... Chicago needs to get rid of his salary not get salary back in return and Montreal doesn't have the room to take him on anyway (as of now).
  15. They have no buy-outs left so buying out PAP is not an option.
