  1. Oh, and O'bryne did have a one hella of a game 3. He had a mean streak i haven't seen in about 4 games from him. But the nhl is based on 82 games plus an extra 16 playoff wins. He still lacks that consistency. So, if you watched them ( doggs) on a regular basis you would see O,bryne has a great future i believe it's just not quite yet.
  2. with that said, O,bryne does have a bigger up side (future potential) compared to dan jancevki but he is not a better defensemen. i have seen 20 home games this year and he is the doggs best defencemen. he even won the team award by a land slide. You must of seen the game at the bell. dan at 25/ 26 is closest on the farm to ready. Emelin hasn't come over yet and until he does we must assume we will have hockey without him next year. if we want to make a push for elite hockey the close to 4 million spent on both bouillion and dandy is the play that is not justified. dan jancevski is the team leader/ #1 defencemen / +- leader and (what tied for points?) on defence for a bulldogs team 2 games away from a calder cup. Yet all the hype goes to the bigger younger flare guy in o'bryne who carries that high prospect status. Meanwhile WE let another guy slip away the last time we were in this spot IN THE PLAYOFFS. (FRANCOIS BEAUCHMEIN) francois quietly went about his business in hamilton and was hands down are best guy but we spent all are time and focus on others like hainsey and whoever else and look now. he's logging 30+ min for anahiem. now im not saying Dan is Beauchi but i am saying that you are disreguarding the fact that Dan is better right now then obryne. P.S. If montreal is looking to replace the shot on the point by a defencemen from HAM it's BENOIT he's "that guy" Team America World Police Hamilton Division
  3. superstar L wing>> koivu>> ryder higgy>> pleks>> kostits lats>> bonk>> kovy begin>> lapierre>> and a Hamilton bulldog to be won a training camp my analysis is selanne is wishful thinking but gainey might look for an all finn line selanne koivu lahti but a winger for koivu is a most. The leafs have made the mistake for years playing Sundin alone and WE have quietly done and asked the same of saku. Give him a star left winger and watch them tear up the league. I think gainey is looking in fact for a 1)left winger,2) an upgrade of bonk so pleks can be our third line center (not chips) and 3) move kovy, sammy, dandy, boullion, a goalie and prospects for another major upgrade and to also create another spot to be filled in by a bulldog. he will also try to sign a defender but i think it wont be any of the hannons or rafalski's but rather a Danny Markov(perfect for streit) or a Schnieder perfect for souray HOPEFUL markov komi schnieder souray striet d. markov Emelin?/ jorges/ jancevski sorry for all the sp. errors
  4. You are missing the point........in the grand scheme of things we should be rolling 4 good lines all game and each should have there own characteristics. Your 3rd and 4th lines are essentially the same thing why have 2 of them.we dont need a eenrgy/checking line as our third and fourth. Our stars (1st and 2nd)should be logging minutes on special teams. e.g Kovy and souray on the PP but should not touch the ice on the pk and markov should be playing both which would give him his 25 -30min. to name a few. I know johnson wants to stay but HE is that guy you are talking about (juneau dackell etc.) and i think Gainey has made it clear by saying he would not be making an offer prior to the 1st of july so that he should look for pastures greener and HEY if were stuck and he hasn't found a home..... we'll take him back at for a lower tag. But I WANT the cup and a third line of rookies and a johnson(dackell) aint gonna cut it. Have you seen Buff/ DET/ ANA/ OTT 3rd lines compare them and see how chips, lapierre and johnson would fair. I luv chips and do think he is of NHL calibre. But 1 season in the AHL aint enough for him. His skating is suspect and he would stand no chance in a traditional checking role shouting down the opposing teams #1 center. And Lapierre is force and is very strong on his skates.... why convert a natural center especially when it is 1 of or depth issues.
  5. All this o'bryne talk on the 1st line makes me laugh. I bet you have yet to watch him play a single AHL playoff game. Because if you did you would know that price has faced close to 80 shots in the last 2 games alone and is not getting much help from his D this whole run . Dan Jancevski his on my shortlist to make the team. He is their best overall defender right now in these playoffs. He was also voted by his peers as their best d-man 4 the year. Anyone who is high on O' bryne will be sadly mistaken when you realize that he will be in fact on the Doggs next year for the entire season. He just isnt a top four pairing yet. And if he was we would be in for one bad season. on a anothwer note, Souray really isn't that bad....So Crosby and Speazza danced around him like a pilon but they have done that to probably everyone. Thing is we habs fans dont let it go. His offense alone is worth 5 million and if you think that his point play is easily replaced you will see the void in the future if he is not resigned. ASSETS like souray must be signed in order to forge ahead. When you lose them for nothing its not good......trust me
  6. milroy and ferland will never play a significant role for the habs for any extended period of time for the habs guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. my mistake, moen did get the winner in game 1 but pahllson tied it up late in the third. And my post early was not to bash it was to simply state that you should realize what your posting before you click that button because there are alot of people who understand the habs and hockey and to waste are time by putting 2 (basic) rookie centers on 1 line and say that the AHLer is gonna be better then a guy who is playing darn good hockey (pahlson) is in fact wasting time. And if you think he is ready for big minutes in the NHL you are sadly mistaken. Chips does not have it quite yet to make a big impact to the habs next season. Maybe in the final stretch run next year will he be truly ready for a call up. We have dan jacevski, matt d'agostini ready with locke and o'bryne not far behind. grabo is getting there. I just think CORVINA has it it on the nose that the amount of prospects that are ready to make the jump is increasing by the minute and Gainey will have no choice but to package some in order to bring in impact players to take us to that next level of hockey. OR ELSE we will risk losing some for nothing (e.g francois beauchemin, perezoghin) and the list will almost certainly grow because all these prospects wont wait around forever to get there shot. 2009 is just around the corner and this is the year gainey has to make his moves that will make us or break us.
  8. dan jancevski looked great out there. so did matt and locke. I need not say a word of price!! mikail also played with allittle bit of heart and grit
  9. i cannot comment on this lahti because i nothing of him, however, he is finnish which is european for "closest thing to a canadian hockey player"
  10. oh ya, by the way pahllson has scored 3 straight game winners in hockeys biggest stage (game 6 west final and both home games in the stanley cup finals) and you think chipchura can do better for us in a similar role even though he has yet to even play a single nhl game? Have you even seen chipchura play hockey? i might have the word initiation under my name but i have been reading these posts for a very long time and alot of people know a great deal about my beloved habs and hockey as a whole, but then i read a post like yours and think " sh*t, i just wasted 30 seconds of my life"
  11. why on earth would you have 2 promising centermen on the same 3rd line. does that make sense?? put some thought into your posts please. and mike johnson is done in montreal. we dont need him on our wing. We need top get BETTER..... we need to become CONTENDERS! these plug ins aint gonna cut it. if you think mediocore you will be medicore!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. finally some sense. we need proven studs. we cant have a full line up 1st 2nd and 3rd year players and also contend for the cup. you need balance. youth experience grit speed flare and balls
  13. i thought lanny won it with calgary when they beat the habs. i know wishful thinking with that line up. but that would be my approach. get a winger dump the defence if really want to revamp it. see if u can score a center and rebuild ur d. then introduce another rookie. easy know??? ha
  14. We can look to plug holes from within but if we are going to give koivu a contender we need to compete with studs in our line up and putting rookie kids out there to log serious minutes isnt gonna get us there. we need a gifted winger for koivu and ryder(teemu selanne) and 2 defenders. hopefully schnieder and danny markov.maybe emelin if he comes. we only have 1 roster spot available for a kid if we want to contend. remember: lats/ lapierre/ are sophmores higgins/ pleks/ streit are going on 3 yrs and ryder/ komi on their fourth and kostitsyn/ halak are still basically rookies Thats 9 players when you get a big shift like this in experiance you end up missing out on playoff births due to the learning curve.
  15. i am sorry to tell you but the habs have nobody on the dogs ready for 1st or 2nd line duty. i am from hamilton and have seen over 15 home games plus the playoffs and trust me they have gone for a goaltending ride with all three of danis halak and now price. only dan janko is ready absolutley nobody else on defence. on the offence our best talent ready for the bigtime is matt d'agosti. grabo is not ready at all for full time duty. he looks average out there without kostitsyn. seriously he has done nothing . he is small and gets knocked off the puck by everyone. dont get me wrong he has so much talent. i just think he needs another year. locke and milroy are simply ahlers. chipcura is our best overall 2 way player. he scores timely goals but i think he needs another year also. especially if we want to contend we only have three studs in our system right now............Price, sergei Kosty, and emelin emelin is really good and definetly ready.... sergei is a london boy who everyone said rode the wave of perry and shremp, now he's riding kane and gagner??? could it be that they were riding him !! however, KANE is very gifted. finally price. he is the reason the dogs are clicking he is the calmest of goalies out there. i watch them play at home and it looks like he doesnt belong. even at 19 yrs of age. he has what we have been craving for since the early 90's.....................patrick roy calibre goaltending. the bulldogs are a great team key word being team with allstar netminders Danis, Halak and now price and this is the kety factor in their calder cup run. timely goals and nhl all-star calibre goaltending.
  16. BY THE WAY I DIDNT BOTHER TO CHECK MY SPELLING OR IF IT WOULD WORK UNDER THE CAP SELANNE/ KOIVU/ RYDER HIGGINS/PLEKS/ KOSTY LATS/DRURY/ D'AGOSTINI BEGIN/ LAPIERRE/ GELINAS MARKOV/ KOMI SCHNIEDER/ SOURAY STRIET/ D. MARKOV (EMELIN) JORGES DAN JANKO AND DUMP EVERYONE ELSE FOR ANYTHING
  17. the true key is to sign the finnish flash for ( 1yr 4.5 million and a 2nd year 5million club otion) to play the left wing with Koivu and ryder until our youth are seasoned because truth be told we do not have a VANEK/ CROSBY/ MALKIN TYPE STUD EXCEPT FOR PRICE AND POSSIBLY SERGEI KOSTY keep the entire higgins/pleks/ kosty lione in tact and give them 82 games the third should consist of lats/ bonk (at only 1.5) and kovy put begin on the fourth with lapierre and try to sign gelinas (playoff swagger) OUR DEFENSE needs our cap space markov>> komi schnieder>> souray streit>> danny markov janceveski jorges we dump sammy for a fourth or waive him we dump dandy for a 4th or waive him also WE DUMP BOUILLION FOR A THIRD ideally i would LIKE TO MOVE KOVY AND PICK UP DRURY TO PLAY WITH LATS AND A FRESH FACE ON THE RIGHT. MAYBE CHIPS BUT I THINK HE STILL ISNT QUITE READY. ANOTHER MOVE COULD BE TO BRING UP PRICE TO SHARE THE LOAD WITH HALAK AND PACKAGE HUET WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE TO GET A STUD HOPEFULLY JAY BOUMEESTER, THEN WE WOULD BE LAUGHING CAUSE HE IS OUTSTANDING. EMELIN IS DEFINITELY READY FOR THE NHL IF HE COMES I WATCHED HIM DOMINATE IN THE UNDER21'S AND WAS BY FAR THE BEST DEFENCEMEN. WAY BETTER THEN STAAL. HE LED ALL DEFENCE IN POINTS AND PUS MINUS AND NOBODY COULD SCORE WHEN HE WAS ON THE ICE. HE COULD TAKE DANNY MARKOV'S SPOT. ON A FINAL NOTE: THE ONLY DEFENCEMEN THAT IS READY FOR THE HABS FROM THE DOGS IS DAN JAN. HE IS THERE BEST D-MAN HANDS DOWN. NOT COTE NOT NOBODY. HE IS THE ONLY ONE READY. I AM FROM HAMILTON AND HAVE WATCHED OVER 15 HOME GAMES AND TRUST ME HE IS THE ONLY ONE. HAMILTON HAS BENEFITED FROM 3 GREAT GOALIES THIS YEAR AND PRICE IS PERFORMING AT A VERY HIGH LEVEL IN THESE PLAYOFFS. HE DEFINITLY HAS THAT SWAGGER THAT WE HAVENT SEEN SINCE YES THATS RIGHT ......ST. PATRICK. HE IS LEADING US RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE NO FORWARDS READY. GRABAVOSKI HAS BEEN NOTHING MORE THEN AVERAGE WITHOUT KOSTITSYN AND IS SMALL AND VERY EASILY AND I MEAN VERY EASILY PUSHED OFF THE PUCK. HE HAS GREAT ABILITY/ TALENT BUT IM AFRAID HE ISNT READY FOR FULLTIME habs DUTY. NOT IF WE WANT TO BE CONTENDERS. HE NEEDS 1 MORE YEAR. MATT D'AGO IS OUR CLOSEST OFFENCE AND CHIPS OUR BEST CHECKER
  18. I have come top realize that the most storied franchise in hockey lies in the hearts of all hockey men. "THEY LOVE THE HABS OR THEY LOVE TO HATE THEM." either way they love them:ghg: i have arrived!!
  19. TORONTO AND THERE FANS MAKE ME SICK. TSN HAS THEM RANKED #2 IN THE LEAGUE. IT SEEMS THEY FORGOT ABOUT THE UNDEFEATED PREDS, HOW ABOUT THE 7-1 WINGS. OR THE CANUCKS. hOW ABOUT THE OTHER 3O% OF THE LEAGUE WHO HAVE MORE POINTS THEN THE LEAFS. WAIT... they have the #1 offence. Ya ...and they also top the charts in powerplay oppourtunities and are in what the top 5 in least pw against. LIKE I SAID..... MAKE ME SICK:nono:
  20. sorry mom, dad, nonno, nonna, sister all born in napoli
  21. FORZA ITALIA 2006 MOM<DAD< NONNO<NONNA< SISTER ALL BORN IN NAPOLI forza italia in wc 2006.
  22. listen, everyone seems all bent up on ribs. But to my knowledge last year was his first full season in the nhl and he did lead us in scoring, mind you on the 2nd line. OK so he's started off slow,is plus/minus -3 and plays poor defence...SO WHAT. HE also has 5pts in 7 games. HE scored the game winner against TO and set up the tying goal in the re-match. He also tied it up against Boston. He really isn't playing all that bad outside of a weak defence of game. SH*T, we haven't even played ten games and all you guyz already want him on the block. IF any part of a players game can improve its the defencive part. give him a chance.
