The only way I would endosre a goon is if he was a hockey player first... enforcer second, like Neil or even Domi to some extent.
-
My guess is that is exactly what will happen. On this road trip Gorges and Cube played very well. (Considering they are the 5 and 6 D pairing.) With Breezy on his way back, and Streit able to play wing or D, O'byrne will probably go back to the dogs. The good news is that BG and Carbo know that he is ready for the NHL. Besides, I would rather send O'byrne down than Perky lil hooters. He has adjusted very well. The addition of Sergei and using Lappiere with Ryder and Higgins gives us three offensive lines, and we aren't wasting talent on a grinding line.

Ya I really wanted to see Locke perform. I was vey disappointed. But having Higgins and Kovy double shifting a lot probably gave the team strengths that Locke could not have provided. Overall game impression. Time to increase the 2nd line playing time. They are our true 1st line. -

I wish the team didn't have so many times where they look like they are killing a penalty in their own zone. It's painful to watch. -

Actually Guy didn't blow it. Hammer and all of the forwards did. Hammer went too deep and no forwards covered him. Ryder had a good game, and it's important to get some fire power early in OT. We got the point without Koivu. I do hope the team wotks on faceoffs during practice though. -

Well if Koivu is out, I guess you would have to make the Plex line the #1 line. -
Who is more and more pissed by the Ribero trade?
BCHabnut replied to Nilan25's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
-Gainey knew Ribs had to go because he was a cancer. He knew he had to deal him for a "D" man. When Dallas took Ribs, they knew, as did BG, that Ribs was very talented, but small and slow, and there was the punk factor which I'm sure the Dallas management was aware of. This was considered by both sides when the deal was made. Ninimaa was the best they could come up with. I'm sure if there was a better deal, BG would have taken it, but he wanted Ribs out more than he wanted someone else in. It didn't work out. The End. IMO the reason Ribs is doing well is Because he was traded. I'm sure it made him think. "Wow, they traded me for Ninimaa? I must have really p!ssed them off!" He was a punk, and he matured. Would he have matured as a habs? Who cares! It's over. -

Lats lookin good. Woooot. I'm listening on CJAD. It's hilarious, the announcer has no idea what any habs's names are. He has said them all wrong so far. -

This has happened with the Habs since I can remember. Don't get excited. Ribs wasn't going to light it up with our system, or on this team. He was a cancer. Being traded is what woke him up. It happens. -

Morrow was a beast in that game. He was always on the edge of penaties. If he had aCH on his jersey, they probably would have been penalties. Saskhab. In light of all the "fire the team staff" retoric, it's actually nice to see how well Dallas does. This is an organization built by Gainey. -

I agree with you that he lets in too many soft goals. But he has never been the team liability in a game that we actually had a chance to win. This is why I'm not mad at him yet. My hopes are high, and there have been games where he has shown me why they are high, and other games where I have gone "Wow this kid needs more time." I think we can all say that we have to resign Huet before the end of the year. (At this stage in Price's development that is.) At least Huet will keep us in when the team is playing bad. I don't think Price has done that once. He has made enough saves when the team is playing well, so that we could pull off a win. But to his defense. as Wamsley stated before, Price hasn't really lost us any games yet. The team has lost them. That is why Carbo dodn't pull him yesterday. The team looked like they were hit by a train or something. -
Injury was my first concern also. Cold goalie groin pull.

What do we do with Ryder now? If Lil Kosty is getting points, we can't boot him outta the 1st line. Guys like Ryder, Lats and Lil Kosty need first or second line talent around them in order to produce. I still think that Lats needs his shot at the first before Ryder. He has been playing better lately. Agree, we usually do well on the south west road trip though, so hopefully we own Dallas. Pricey in nets I assume. -

Ah this site is starting remind of the old ESPN board with Linden Fan. Too much with the contraversy. Huet sucks at shootouts. His stats and performance say so. End of story. Our shooters suck at shootouts. Saku's move is way too old and everyone is waiting for it, Kovy tries that high backhand too much and misses the net. Our shooters suck at shootouts...end of story. Habs suck at shootouts...End of story :puke: -

I hope there isn't a bunch of negative junk about this loss. 37 shots is a good thing. 3 points out of 4 on the road is a good thing. A goal by the rookie is a good thing. And coming from behind after 40 minutes shows some character, and is a good thing. -

Well, at least the boys came back and tied the game after being behind for 40 minutes. I'm a little surprised that Kovy didn't shoot 2nd. Also, Koivu needs to mix up his moves a little. It's the same one everytime. -
