  1. Actually the amount quoted appears to be the going rate for a player with his qualities. He brings intensity and consistency to the game.
  2. While true that Bouillon is not a "star" player her brings a lot to the team. Evidence the success of Edmonton and Carolina without a lot of star players on defense. I like Bouillon, teams need this type of support players.
  3. Maybe Mr. Dube is correct with the amount, however, in todays market it is probably right where it should be. I do not see the number as being out of wack. If you want out of wack numbers see Richards in Tampa and the dollars allegedly offered to McCabe in Toronto.
  4. I agree, people are not considering the money aspect of the New NHL. I can't help but think some of the people asking for big name FA are thinking this is like the government, spend, spend and spend some more.
  5. I am just going to wait and let Gainey surprise everyone when and if he does sign a free agent. We should know by now that Gainey is not influenced by fans or the media. He usually finds a player that fits his needs and requirements for playing on his team. I just love his way of doing business. Not saying he will always be successful but he is interesting.
  6. Problem with your description of Mario Tremblay, if you had seen his recent interviews you would see he does NOT have an ego, what he does have is difficulty suffering arrogant people who think they are more important then the team they are part of. He believes in a work ethic and team players.
  7. I missed the winking smile! I used the Flyer's spelling of the name. Maybe Bobby Clarke does not know how to spell his name anymore then we do. I will be on the lookout for your winking smiles in the future.
  8. Who is Antero Nittynakki? A 26 year old goalie, Save percentage .895, goals against average 2.97, record of 23-15-6 and 2 shut outs. Currently injured, groin tear in the World Chanpionships while playing for Team Finland. Now why would we want him?
  9. Actually I hope it is not just a rumor. I watched an interesting interview of Mario on French TV last week. This guy is quite a bit more intelligent then most people who have been posting here seem to give him credit for. He has absolutely no animosity for Roy, he has moved on and maybe everyone else should also move on. What I liked about him was his honesty and lack of ego. Need to remember that he had a winning record with Montreal. Carbonneau is said to want an assistant coach with energy. Mario brings energy, pride, knowledge of the game and work ethic. If he is selected I will not be upset, if someone else is selected I will not be upset, bottom line Carbonneau and Gainey will select who "they" want.
  10. The example discussed sounds like what is done on a regular basis by the NBA, sign and trade.
  11. I hope Koivu is not injured or even worst sick!
  12. The NHL has given the OK to Theodore to use the prescription Propecia, the odds of Theodore ever being on the Canadian Olympic Team or any Canadien team in an international competition is remote. With that in mind he made the decision to continue using this medication for hair loss. His family has a history of being bald early. It does not cause the poor performance on the ice, that is another issue. All the canadian reporters who have seen Theodore in the locker room have said he is as thin as rail. With all the trouble he is having finding his game on the ice, it is time we put the hair thing to rest and let's hope he finds his game since we will need him to make the playoffs.
  13. What about Cote on defense, good size, has improved in AHL and played well against the Flyers?
  14. Have you heard of a player by the name of Martin St. Louis? He was too small to play in the NHL. Sometimes it is the size of the heart and the bite that is more important than the size of the player.
