  1. Lats should stay.....I've said it before, and now I'm saying it again.
  2. This could be an ugly game if the Sens play their big line.
  3. I think a few of the younger players made Carbo's next round of cuts much easier. Chipchura and Kostitsin didn't show much out there, and I'm having a hard time remembering which other prospects did anything to indicate they deserve to stick around with the exception of Latendresse and Price. Why not get rid of those who are obviously nowhere near ready now, and play a mostly veteran lineup from here on out? It would allow the lines to get clicking and go into the reg. season with some good momentum.
  4. :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: A lot of guys out there playing like they didn't give a damn. As far as prospects, based on what I saw tonight, Latendresse and Price were the only ones that looked like they could contribute anything to the big club in the immediate future. The Leafs just played harder for the most part, and that's why they won...period. Encouraging to see Koivu looking like his old self, and Streit looking really good offensively, but that's about all I took away from this game from a positive standpoint.
  5. I will be very concerned if they bring the same lack of effort tomorrow night on home ice.
  6. The Leafs aren't making the playoffs this year....not with Atlanta having reliable goaltending this year, Florida improving their firepower, and Boston being much better. I predict they'll be realistically done with at least 3 or 4 weeks remaining in the season.
  7. He shouldn't have jumped....bad move on Malkin's part.
  8. I think it's important that the coaching staff give Latendresse a 'carrot' to chase if he indeed does dominate at camp only to get sent back to junior. They have to send him back knowing that if he keeps doing what he does while at the same time improving his speed, he'll be a keeper next year. If he can get faster, he will be a dynamite player for this team.
  9. The GTA could easily support another team....the league should tell the Sabres and Leafs to STFU and greenlight the move should the opportunity arise. I'm all for putting a team in a real hockey market, instead of some area where Dale Earnhardt T-shirts outnumber hockey jerseys 10,000-to-1.
  10. I'll give Ribs a chance....his LAST chance; if you can't produce while centering Samsonov and Kovalev, you don't belong in the NHL.
  11. It'd be nice to start the season with our top two lines in tact...I hope he's ready to go.
  12. Gentleman's agreement my ass...it is collusion, plain and simple, and it is wrong. There's nothing wrong with giving a RFA an offer sheet if you feel they are worth X dollars over Y years. After all, without that mechanism in place, there's nothing 'free' about being a RFA!!!
  13. Schumacher was/is a straight-up badass driver....Jacques is the one nobody will remember. It's impossible to forget someone who won so many races!
  14. I'd love to see an NFL team come to Canada. I love NCAA and NFL football...can't stand CFL, so it's not as if I'd be buying an NFL ticket INSTEAD of buying a CFL ticket (I'd never pay to see a CFL game). I know I'm not alone in this regard.
  15. Hmmm....maybe there should be a Ticket Forum added for this purpose. It'd be good for putting those with season tix wanting to sell some games in touch with those looking for some single games.
  16. It might be easier to pluck young talent out of Florida now....Martin doesn't like young players for one reason or another. Just ask Jason Spezza.
  17. Markov-like players don't come cheap.
  18. I thought he was a decent player for the Wild? Wonder what happened.
  19. For the record, I'm not suggesting trying to seriously hurt Williams....I just expect him to eat a few knuckle sandwiches in a FAIR face-to-face fight. It just sends a message that people should maybe be more careful with their sticks when playing the Habs...that's all.
  20. I think Williams has be forced to drop the gloves with whomever fills that role for us on his very first shift vs. Habs this season. On principle.
  21. He's gonna be reaaaaaal popular in prison.
  22. This Gibbons character seems like a real A-hole...I'm glad he got a bloody nose out of the deal. BTW....can you imagine if he'd tried this challenge-to-a-fight shit on oldschool Blue Jay George Bell? I'll never forget George charging the mound and throwing a jumping side-kick at a pitcher with his cleats. Those were the days!
  23. Really, the Russians should just take the 200K per player settlement and be thankful they're getting anything. Given their labor law, anyone can leave at anytime (with a two-week waiting period) for NOTHING unless there's a transfer agreement in place. North American courts will never side with them with their own laws the way they are, as they are about to find out when their attempt to sue over Malkin is thrown out of court. Once that happens, they're up that proverbial creek without a paddle. Heck, the NHL should do what it did to their players...threaten that if the Russians don't take this offer, the next one will be worth even less.
  24. Both would be decent if paired with a strictly stay-at-home defenseman.
