I thought the third should have been possible for sure. We grew to expect Price to be superhuman, and we are paying him accordingly (far more than any other goalie is getting at the moment). He's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but he is not playing at the elite level we need him to be.
They did all the right things in the second period, I think. Outshot TB 17-7, outhustled them and even outdid them on the face-offs. Nothing to show for it, but hopefully we'll get a bounce or two in our favour in the third.
Meeting your expectations so far? Domi's effort aside, I thought the PP was very good, though without a goal.
This team is making it very easy for me to like them!
Woah ... had to go do a work conference call so I missed all the fun in the third! Very happy to see they turned it around, though.
Still mystified how we had three so completely different periods in this game.
Nine goals in 12 games so far, that's pretty damn good value. Realistically ... well, let's hope he can play as strongly all season, even if the scoring pace is bound to drop off.
Hmmm? Looking at the season stats on nhl.com, it looks like Hudon 6 PIM, Peca 2 PIM, Deslauriers 4 PIM (including tonight). Is that including Scherbak (8 PIM) and Shaw (16 PIM)?
