  1. 3-0 ... I didn't think we were playing THAT badly, were we? And Halak's not the problem, either.
  2. That wasn't quite the storm I was hoping for.
  3. The Cammy "Toronto Way" story they referred to on Coach's Corner: http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/nhl/a...the-toronto-way
  4. I agree that they are deceptive -- many of them not so dangerous, though more than one could have gone in, had it deflected slightly different. And Flyers have had dangerous traffic in front of our net. But this is nothing like Game 1 in the last series -- the boys are in it, they're not back on their heels, they're not being overwhelmed. No, this won't be an easy series but after one period I'm definitely not losing hope!
  5. Yeah, definitely not sharp. And yet for not sharp, the numbers look not bad. 11-4 shots and 59% on the face-offs. Nice rush by Gomez!
  6. I agree -- I think we have a decent chance if the series is clean. But Pronger is definitely a dirty player, and I only hope the refs will not be wearing the same kind of blinders they had on when Crosby was playing.
  7. Agree 100%. His attitude is poison, especially to his older brother.
  8. Some pre-game reading -- the season series game-day threads: 07 Dec: 3-1 Habs 12 Feb: 3-2 Flyers 13 Feb: 6-2 Flyers 02 Apr: 1-0 Habs
  9. No, they didn't; the season series was split. 07 Dec: 3-1 Habs (@ Montreal). Shots 13:15, goalies Price & Boucher. 12 Feb: 3-2 Flyers (@ Philadelphia). Shots 33:25, goalies Price & Leighton. 13 Feb: 6-2 Flyers (@Montreal). Shots 26:28, goalies Halak/Price & Leighton. 02 Apr: 1-0 Habs (@Philadelphia). Shots 23:35, goalies Halak & Boucher. Notably on the 13 Feb game, we gave up four special teams goals: two PPG, one SHG and one penalty shot. Markov was only in the lineup for the last game; Spacek was out of the lineup for that one.

  11. Let's hope he's back on the ice on Sunday night to help us with the next stage of our quest, against either the Bruins or the Flyers!
  12. Meaningless stats department (for Bruins-Flyers), from nhl.com: Road teams are 3-0 in the seventh game? Take out the Habs, and it's only 1-0!
  13. Habs wins book-end the lifespan of the Igloo. And that's a fine note for me to go get some sleep -- it's almost 3 AM now. Will be seeing you guys in the conference finals, with hopefully more balanced refereeing now that Cindy and Ovy are both gone golfing.
  14. I think we should be happy to have the extra two days off ...
  15. Is Cherry coaching the Penguins?!?!? Way to go boys!!! It's no Stanley Cup yet, but you have made me one proud Habs fan! A great team effort, first star should go to Cammy, and Halak merits the second for keeping the puck out in the third.
  16. That's 35 shots on Halak now. I believe this series is over.
  17. Under six minutes to go, a three-goal lead and Halak approaching 35 shots. I will admit that this is better than I expected.
  18. Cammy! Gionta! The smurfs do it again!!!!!
  19. Let's hope -- Johnson surely isn't warmed up!
  20. Even the refs can't fail to call too many men!
  21. It should be on http://www.crosbydives.com/ tomorrow ...
  22. Crap. Can't complain about the refs on this call, either, I think.
  23. Down to 15 minutes ... and Laps finally got our first shot on Johnson in this period!
