I just watch a video on Cyberpresse.ca and they report the story. I learned that mr. Boiclair didn't say "slanting eyes", his speech was in french. Ok now i see everybody takes on Boiclair because he said "yeux bridés". I'm sorry, but i have to take position on Boiclair side because "yeux bridés" is absolutely not an expression of any disrespect sense and even less racist. This just means they have "les yeux bridés" as the majority of Asians have. Maybe, the expression "slanting eyes" in english are pejorative in some ways, but in french, the langage Boiclair did his speech in, it's not. He just said a 1/3 of students had " les yeux bridés" instead of saying 1/3 of students come from east Asia. Everybody knows that in Québec, majority of immigrants vote for the Parti Libéral. I wouldn't be surprised if the complaint against Boiclair was for political purposes. And don't take on me, I work in English most of the time, I have 1 friend frow Rwanda, 1 from Maroc and got a really nice relation with the Chinese owner of my favorite dépanneur ("7/11") here in Montréal. This is just about usage of some words in different languages and politic.

Boiclair what he wanted to say in french. When you hear people saying "slanting eyes" and then you ask what it means, they will automaticaly stretch the corner of their eyes. It's just normal that you consider it means "yeux bridés" and then translate it as "slanting eyes". I agree for the first part of your post bacchus, but when you name O'Byrne, D'Agostiny and Milroy... I'm not sure if the habs will win the Stanley Cup in the next 20 years with those guys on the team. We defenitly need a Brière or a young Tavares or any kind of guy who can put up 90-100 pts to lead this team on the first unit. And i dont think none of the players you named in your post can do it... And I know our prospects... i've been following them since two years, I can't wait for Emelin too and see how a "Kots - Grab - Kots" unit would be hot on the ice... I totally disagree with you Cataclaw. If only Charest and Dumont would have give some LITTLE answers to Boiclair on ANY questions he asked, maybe he wouldn't have cut them off all the time. Boiclair was the only one to face the questions and answer all the time. Charest and Dumont were both walking around the question and wasting time by not responding it. When you ask Jean Charest the simple question "Will you raise the day-care centers costs during a second mandate?" and you're not even able to get a "yes/no" answer or any kind of information, I think you're allowed to re ask the question and cut Charest pathetic answer. I don't think Higgins is outspoken more than Komi. And I'd prefer a captain who play (or will play) the game as Pronger. In 2 or 3 years, Komi will be at this level i think, but not offensively, but all around player with leadership, who drop the gloves to protect his buddys.

No Komisarek would be the future captain. Some others talked about Chipchura as a captain. I'd prefer Komi.
