Jordie Benn with his first as a Hab. Huge goal as the Rangers were starting to carry the play. Glad to see Benn rewarded as he has been great so far. He has added stability on that 3rd pairing.

Though I'm sure most wont turn away from the Habs game tonight but the Windsor Spitfires are playing the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds on SN360. Sergachev just got an assist on Windsor's opening goal.

Figured they would do one of these at some point but figured it would be during a stoppage in play. I guess they are trying to avoid distraction during the game. I look forward to it and cant wait to hear how loud the Bell Centre gets during it. Tonight should be a lot of fun. Go Habs Go!

Though a different player now I have great memories of him when I was growing up and would attend Spitfires games at the Old Windsor Barn. He was magic back in his OHL days and had great chemistry with Jason Spezza. It was fun hockey back then. So still to this day I'm an Ott fan but just don't feel he has enough left in the tank to help the Habs unfortunately. Hope he proves me wrong.

Kind of a strange trade but I guess it's an upgrade on the 4th line. Wonder if they will continue to move Mitchell to the wing and have Ott at centre. Quite a few agitators on this team now. Gallagher, Shaw and Ott are the type of players that will get under the opponent's skin.

So now 5 of our 7 D-man are now lefties. I sense this may be a trade that signals the end of Beaulieu by the deadline. He could be a guy used to get an upgrade in another area like our forwards. I think if they trade him for a forward they will also add another depth defender who is right handed. No doubt that Benn is an upgrade on Pateryn. Good trade since we didn't have to give up too much.

If they end up getting the second round pick for him its not too bad but I doubt they ever do as I could see it being conditional on games played. With Quick now healthy and Budaj filling in wonderfully in Quick's past absence this trade just doesn't make sense to me.
