  1. I think we'll give him the year to determine that.
  2. I hope Streit makes the UFA market, because he'd look good in a Flyers jersey . Who do you think gets resigned. I've been back and forth with school, and I didn't get to see many games. Ryder seems like he might be out, right? Again, a great series guys, and I hope this isn't the last we see of each other in the playoffs, and I wish the Habsnation the best in the offseason.
  3. It was a very good series guys, every game was a nail biter, and even up 3-1, I was not comfortable, and half way through the 2nd, I was pretty sure the series was going to swing the other way big time. the big thing the habs need is heart. Koivu was really the only Habs I saw busting his behind every game.
  4. well I'm a Flyers fan, so any bad voodoo would probably swing our way haha.
  5. If/when the Habs decide they really want this series, and the Flyers let off the gas for a second, which is inevitable, who would you guys want to play in the ECF? As a Flyers fan, I'd like to see the Rags for 2 reasons, A) we matched up better down the stretch and B) The officials have been less than stellar when it comes to Crosby, no matter what team you pull for. As a Habs fan, I'd go with Pitts. I think the 2 teams match up very well, as both are very quick teams with some guys who know how to bruise. I believe the Habs would be less prone to talking penalties against the kid as well.
  6. There was no elbow on the Downie hit either, he got him with the shoulder, and his arm extended after the hit, and, while he did leave his feet, it's very common for smaller players to explode into the hit. If you watch frame by frame, it becomes very difficult to tell if he does leave his feet before contact, or at the moment of impact. Mackenzie mentioned this in his blog right after the incident. as for the "had the puck" debate, he released the puck only a split second before contact, there was no conceivable way for Downie to avoid the hit. And if it was worth 20 games, Neil should have gotten 10-15 for his headshot on Drury last season. again, I think this could be a spirited debate for the offseason, meanwhile, let's enjoy this fantastic series!
  7. well i have a biased opinion because i live for the flyers and hate the sens
  8. I don't want to hijack this thread anymore than i already have (I apologize), but Armstrong has made himself a torpedo, like on this hit on carter (about a minute into the video.) anyway, back on topic, this is a great, chippy series, and I don't think we have seen the best from either team yet!
  9. It was sensationalized because of the result. He deserved 5 games, not 20. It was no different than the hit Colby Armstrong laid on Koivu in 04 or 05, but Koivu bounced right back up. as a matter of fact, Armstrong made a living delivering hits like that, and even knocked 2 guys out cold on very similar hits with no repercussions.
  10. I don't think I've been a troll. I haven't been here going "LOL HABZ SUCKZORS!!!!!!11!!!!" I'm here because I like both teams and you guys were welcoming when I first posted here about contacting habs players. Just stirring up some discussion, and offering up an opposing viewpoint. there's a guy on the flyers board i frequent that's a habs fan and he's been doing the same thing. It's all for the love of the game guys!
  11. I haven't been big on Downie (he's got talent, but no brain.), but in that case I thought it was a little weak. And just for the record, As a whole, Philly fans thought Boulerice Cote and Jones got what they deserved, but Downie and Hartnell got the shaft pretty hard.
  12. Again, I'm not here to troll, I like both teams a lot (one more than the other right now ), but Downie was going for the puck. If Saku did that to Biron, I would have said it was BS, hell, I thought that penalty on higgins was BS, but anyway, after that happened, 2 habs jumped him, and the habs get the PP? come on. ohh I already stated that, but they were just interviewing Hatch here in Philly, and he said the ref told him he got a 2 min boarding call, Boullion shoved him, and the ref saw the spec of blood, and told Hatch he had 5 and a game. that is total garbage. once Boo Boo got up and shoved him, blood should have been a non factor.
  13. with all due respect, they scored in the 3rd minute of the PP, so they would have only gotten one
  14. It was a BS call. Boullion spun at the last second. Granted, it was a board, but not worthy of 5 and a game. Boullion got right back up and even hit hatch right back. There was no intent to injure, and it wasn't even a vicious hit. and It's entirely possible that it was just the visor that cut him. And Rafikz, how could you even suggest the refs handed the Flyers the game when the habs were on the PP for almost half of the game and getting away with everything?
  15. Flyers 3 Refs 2. I'm sorry guys, I don't want to seem like a troll, but the refs handed you the game.
  16. It's weird, the Habs seem to be able to score at will against any team they play, but they seem to play back way too often. There were points in this game where all I was thinking was "Man if the Habs were really on the gas that would be in." This is really shaping up to be a chippy and exciting series.
  17. I think the scariest part about that article is it says Biron was talking to Reggie Lemelin. Now his game is really going to suffer! All jokes aside, I hope game two is just as entertaining as game one!
  18. This will get interesting. flyers get a goal they didn't truly deserve by RJ, the Habs get the better end of a questionable call in the second. evens out in the end, bring on OT!
  19. Bring it on guys!!!! It's going to be a good one, no doubt!!!
  20. Yes, and Randy Jones is far from a physical defenseman. Of course he got the goon tag after that unfortunate collision with Bergeron. and Biron is similar to Huet. Decent, but not anything special. He's really only been good for 2 games this series.
  21. well we crapped the bed pretty good and it's not looking good for tonight haha. Biron, 0-5 in back to back games, but he will undoubtedly get the nod. The Caps were bottled up for most of the series, and they just exploded in the last 2. I hope to be frequenting this board next week, as a fan of both teams playing in round 2.
  22. we could see the second round determined in one afternoon here. If my Flyers win today, and your Habs do the same, we should be ready for one hell of a series! Good luck Habs, beat those B's into a pulp!
  23. The Flyers went into the game on such an emotional high after shutting out the Debbies, and it took the first few minutes for them come back to reality for one more go round. Neither team played a great game, but the Pens had their checking line out on a PP in the 3rd. It was a little suspect, and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't pushed to give it their all before the game. hell, I'd hate to play the Flyers if I were them. I mean with our reputation as thugs and all. Joking aside, if they did in fact take the low road to get a better matchup, so be it. I just hope Karma catches up to them before it's over.
  24. The turnover definitely didn't help, but we've had costly injuries at key times. there was a point where we were losing a player a game for about 7 in a row, and we were forced to call Giroux up for a few games. Also, losing gagne didn't help. he and briere :ducks: were on fire at the beginning of the season, but once Gags went down, it wasn't until prospal came in that he started firing up again. Stevens has done a lot of shuffling too, and it's starting to fall into place now that the lineup has stabiliized somewhat. I just feel like the coach is like a politician sometimes, he has less power than people give him credit for.
