I'll go a different direction and say Gallagher. Maybe not the highest skill player, but brings it every night, goes where most of our "big" guys won't. He's the type of player you need to win in this league.

Crazy question.. What would a team have to trade to get P.K. out of Montreal? I'm not saying I want it to happen, because I don't. I think Subban is one of the top 4 or 5 players in the league. I get that they lost players, but on the overall picture they all seemed to improve. Frustrating when watching Sportsnet and all the "winners" of the offseason so far are in the same Division as Montreal. As I said before though, something has to be coming... I'll wait and see what rolls out... BUT, at this point, playoffs look like a stretch.

I agree that many of the contracts were ridiculous.. But Montreal has the pieces to put a better offer for Ryan on the table... Just look at what teams in the division did... Boston adds Erikkson, Iginla, and Prospects Ottawa adds Ryan, MacArthur, Toronto adds Bolland, Clarkson, Brennen, Bernier Detroit adds Weiss, Alfredson You just can't sit and wait for draft picks to develop... There's no guarantee that those picks will even work.. You have to make moves to improve.. Why does it seem like many other teams are doing so while we wait...

I seriously hope people don't think that replacing Ryder and Armstrong with Briere and Parros is going to improve this team. This team will be battling for the 8th spot and will get crushed in the playoffs... I hope I'm wrong, I hope Price is the goalie we all think he can be and Stanley comes home.. But I just don't see it. Despite last years success, Montreal is closer to the basement then they are the #1 seed. So many teams getting better while Bergevin stands still..

Wow.. now the Senators add Bobby Ryan. I just don't understand the thinking.. you have prospects, you have players, improve around your two or three world class players but NO, Montreal does nothing. I love the Habs. Always will. But right now... the playoffs look like a reach for this squad...

I know a lot of teams overspent today.. but you have to wonder where Montreal fits in the East now with Detroit coming over... Boston got better, Toronto got better, Detroit got better, Ottawa is still tough... are we looking at 5th in the division? Something HAS to be coming...

LeBrun just tweeted he expects Montreal to be quiet as they got their main target yesterday. Was Danny Briere really the main target of MB? Because if he has nothing else planned this is going to be a huge letdown of an off-season.
