  1. boston ain't getting 70 shots. Montreal just needs to calm down and tigthen up the holes they were opening
  2. the translation i got was: sky, köttsaft, köttspad, köttsås it's a liquid made from animal fat... I don't really know how to make it... its just good with potato products.
  3. i am going slowly crazy at work counting the minutes. The countdown clock on canadiens.com isn't helping matters either (but I do seem to check it every half hour or so)
  4. how is slegr only getting $800,000? Has he really deteriorated that much. No matter I guess... I'll tell you one thing though - out here in mass people are incredibly confident about this series, but there is a funny thing about boston fans which I think comes mostly from Red Sox: Boston fans are always kind of expect their teams to find a way to lose. I think Montreal fans always expect their teams to find a way to win (at least the als, of late, and the habs). You can tell that somewhere in the back of their heads the bruins fans are waiting for bill buckner to lace up his skates.
  5. poo-TEEN (approximately) not to be confused with putain [Edited on 4/7/2004 by simonus]
  6. the salaries are in US dollars. The problem, however, is that you can't get an exact idea of what the habs paid for those US dollars as the exchange rate changes over the course of the year and Canadian teams have exchange departments that try to buy US dollars at opportune times. They might have bought at 71 cents or maybe at 79, or even some at 71 and some at 79, so you don't know what multiplier to use to find the relative cost. [Edited on 4/6/2004 by simonus]
  7. older brother point is generally true, but just a look at past canadiens - Ken Dryden was definitely a better goaltender than Dave.
  8. that might be true, but you havent taken into account my ignorance.
  9. if montreal beats boston, especially if ryder plays a major role (which he will basically have to), raycroft won't win. You can't give the calder to a guy who is on the other guy's highlight reel....
  10. thats hillarious, but was barely poutine. I looked far too organized and layered. Someone has to go over there and show them how it's done.
  11. re getting the games: to get cbc in US if not living in buffalo or something you have to have center ice. You get this years playoffs for free if you buy the package for next season... kind of like the islanders' deal
  12. isn't mikko playing for the wild next year?
  13. actually i think this game proved that the habs aren't gonna get sweeped. Do you think Burke could do that two games in a row? Do you think the habs played well enough between 8 pks and a bigger team to win a few? This game showed that the habs have grit and theo was solid. We lost, that sucks... but the habs are firing on all cylinders.
  14. i gotta say souray is looking better as the game goes on.
  15. As far as the last time all the canadian teams were in the playoffs: 1986 is not exactly correct. 1986 was the last year there were 6 canadian teams in the playoff. That year there were 7 canadian teams (winnipeg and quebec were still around, no ottawa). I have no idea when the last time all the available canadian teams were in the playoffs.
  16. every time i see the word "Czerkawski" I just go nuts - especially next to 23 goals. There should be some site filter against that word. Between him and Yashin I think that they are asking canadians to hate the Isles.
  17. i have a good feeling about this one... I think it is a good time for the habs to be out of montreal, play right and come back home having shown their mettle. BTW - this would be a great time for kovalev to shove a hockey stick up the boo birds asses.
  18. http://www.essopowerplay.com/EN/index.php This is a link for a trivia game and a skill game from esso. I don't know if you guys have seen this aleady, but I thought I'd just post it up.
  19. not to mention that i dont want souray punching anything.
  20. brodeur hurt his foot in warmups... still playing though...
  21. http://www.thehockeynews.com/en/headlines/...1&idMenuItem=69 THN's power rankings have us ahead of toronto, ottawa, new jersey and vancouver... I don't know if i necisarily agree with their rankings as a whole it ain't so bad to see montreal ranked up there with the elite teams.
  22. the habs are really hot right now, but I have a feeling that the 2 games vs. the devils will balance themselves out, probably 1 win and 1 loss. No matter, the habs are going to keep surprising a lot of people
