  1. markov is back on the ice.... thank god!
  2. any word on how bad? will he be able to come back tommorow? How the hell did he bruise it anyways? He was sitting in the box! [Edited on 3/6/2004 by simonus]
  3. didn't really know much about dowd before the trade but I think I'm starting to really like him.
  4. i think he read the new depth chart and wanted to move up a couple of spots
  5. is anybody gonna be on the chat tonight?
  6. are you saying that she wrote that week's rankings or all of them? I kinda assumed it was done in a group... like some smokey room filled with panger, buccigross, and melrose... I guess that's sort of ridiculous...
  7. jesus, guess who is winning? The red wings... that's such bull. Are the Wings going to beat the blue jackets? C'mon! Habs vs. Isles is a severly important game for playoff positioning and nobody seems to care. Right now it is just a distant third. It's kind of silly to post the avs and the wings for an ice picks game. They are already going to show both teams all the time anyways... it seems to me that they should put some games that they didn't intend to show in their regular schedule, then it would be an interesting concept. Fankpuck, you need to get center ice.... sure, it ain't exactly cheap, but over the course of a season i think it pays for itself.
  8. if anyone gets a hold of their comments line email address could they post it here?
  9. From ESPN's pre-season power rankings: How I love pre-season predictions.
  10. definitely, i used to check the room around game time, but nobody was ever on....
  11. i hope my bruins friends are watching this game. Apparently the habs dont get all the calls...
  12. he's not what we needed per se, especially after Souray comes back.
  13. i sure hope so. The very thought of letting lindros into the province is kinda disgusting.
  14. i don't know if komi is playing as well as brisebois... look at +/-. I do like komi though and he is definitely the future. Brisebois is probably overpriced at 4 mill, but he has been solid this season.
  15. umm..... Jagr plays for the Rangers.... I hate to put the current trade rumours in these terms but - are the Habs gonna win the cup this year? Is adding one or two players midseason going to turn them into class A cup contendors overnight. If not, whats the point? Gainey signed on for long term success, not mortgaging potential future stars for a quick payoff. Signing Jagr might help the team, it might hurt the team, who can say (although previous evidence points to the latter), but balej, perezhogin, plekanec, or Hossa might turn out to be as skilled and right now we dont know which one(s). Unless Gainey feels he can get significantly better long term value at the deadline rather than the offseason what is the point in trying to guess. We don't need rent-a-players and I doubt we need 6-10 million dollar players that get a point a game and complain about icetime, sulk on the bench, refuse to play defence, and have wet dreams about their old mullets.
  16. let us not pretend that this is just about the three game losing streak... look back before the allstar break at those games against chicago and pittsburgh. Sure, we won those games but we sure did make it look difficult. Anybody who saw those games know that against even slightly better teams (or just slightly better goalies) we would have been majorly screwed. One can make quite a legitimate argument that mediocrity is becoming the standard in montreal. It's good to see Julien shaking up the lines, but we have seen this year his seeming inability to rethink strategies in-game. As to whether to call up Mr. Robinson - that could easily be as unfair as it was to call up Mr. Julien last season. The habs have announced themselves dedicated to long-term success and robinson will still be available in the offseason. If Julien is unable to maintain the team's forward motion, then we can get larry. [Edited on 2/18/2004 by simonus]
  17. the habs seem to be doing a good job of coping without souray around... good offensive and defensive output by the defensive core.
  18. are we sure that beauchemin isn't playing? i was really looking forward to seeing him get some ice time
  19. the angles wont really change at all... the offensive zones will still be the same size, they will just be farther apart. Thus the distance from blue line to net and the resultant angles are the same.... I understand that i am getting a technical to the point of being anal.. but i agree with your point... one is hard pressed to make an argument as the detrimental affect of that rule change.
  20. i don't tend to watch rds or read rds.ca very much... does anybody have a feel as to how accurate their info on such matters tend to be? The gazette and everywhere else i read has Souray out for a week...
  21. hopefully the habs can regroup after the makeshift timeout
  22. the announcer is saying that souray got a rob ray penalty ... wtf? thats is 10 different kinds of stupid [Edited on 2/4/2004 by simonus]
  23. 2:03 into the first period zednik - check souray - check
  24. let it be noted that we could have signed bryan berard as an unwanted free agent for like the first month and a half of the season
  25. patrice!!!! Habs 1-0 - :23 1st period wicked
