  1. He started his career as a forward. Scotty Bowman converted him to defence. He's more than willing to play a few games as a forward if that's what the team wants. He's a great character.
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I wish we still had Perrault. He always had good chemsitry and didn't mind playing on Koivu's wing. When last-minute faceoffs happened, he'd switch to the pivot to take it. But as for the lines, I don't think breaking up Zednik and Koivu would be a great idea. That first line is set when Zeddy returns. Put Perezhogin on the second line, and keep the fourth line Begin - Higgins - Plekanec. Third line should also not be touched. We need a defensive line, and Bulis and Bonk together make it dangerous. Sundstrom also seems to be coming along well enough. He's a slick passer when he wants to be and has fluidic skating.
  3. Didn't we draft him as a center and then convert him to defence?
  4. Todd Bertuzzi was effective because he always drew two defenders to the net where they would just lay lumber on his back until the cows came home, which freed up so much room for his teammates, especially on the PP. With the new rules, one defender is casually near him just incase the puck is rebounded. He's gotta learn how to change his gameplan.
  5. I've heard reports of him tipping the scales at 263.
  6. What about Manny Fernandez? His back gave out while toweling his hair? And the best part, was that wasn't the only crappy injury. Wade Belak got bit by a spider and couldn't make opening day. I was talking to a Leafs fan friend of mine and he was saying how Belak could come back with super powers. To which I said "No, it's Wade Belak. +2 and 5 goals this year would be super powers"
  7. Well, posting several months late, but better late than never. Looking at that hit in slow motion, he didn't actually seem to elbow that guy. He drove him hard into the boards with his shoulder. His elbow was beside the guy's head. What got him was the part where the glass starts on the players bench.
  8. You did not just say that. i don't believe in luck - good or bad or jinxes, or any such things. if atlanta scores, it's as a consequence of actions and reactions that work out that way. Yeah, well, I do to some extent. I have a very specific set of hockey superstitions. I used to tape a lucky penny on to the knob of my stick. I was tearing up the league in preaseason and for the first 1/4 of the regular season. Then I must've lost it fighting for a puck in the corner, and I never scored in the regular season again. I switched sticks in the playoffs and went almost 2 points per game. Superstition, wether valid or not, has mental effects. And while us talking about a game in another country doesn't make a difference, I still have those habits in me. I write lucky numbers on my sticks a la Yanic Perrault, and I always do the same breakaway move at the end of the warmup. If I think I'll play better because of superstition, chances are I might do it just because I'm thinking it.
  9. Danis entering the NHL the same way he did the AHL, with a win in his first game.
  10. Okay, Dagenais, what the hell? They pull the goalie and you're going for the breakaway pass?
  11. Perezhogin broke his stick and kicked the puck to center and then down the ice, haha
  12. Wow. You can't say Atlanta wasn't given a big gift to try and tie this game. If you can't score on a 5on3 with Hossa, Kovalchuck, Bondra, Kozlov, and Holik, you deserve to lose.
  13. Here comes the game-tying calls. The new NHL is exciting!
  14. i don't get it They can try working on his knees.
  15. Holy shit, did anyone see the replay of that Canes game? Beauty goal by Ovechkin, then the biggest gaff I've seen in a long time. Canes defenceman passes back to the goalie...on a delayed powerplay. Zubrus credited with the goal.
  16. Dear Pierre Dagenais, I regret to inform you that your application to the Canadian National Skiing team has been declined. Please revert back to skating and playing hockey instead of practicing on opponents. Sincerely, Joshua Pacheco
  17. We need to send Dagenais to the surgeon who fixed Souray's wrist. Habs PP, De Vries in the box.
  18. Eh, I usually just fire the puck on net as quick as possible. That way it's not a waste of a chance, but I'm getting the penalty underway quickly.
  19. Take it from a guy who plays like Begin, if you're a walking bandaid who blocks shots and goes all-out, you're either going to play hurt or your not going to be playing much. As long as you're not doing more damage and you're still useful to the team, you're still playing
  20. It looked like he took a puck off the upper leg area, possibly the knee, maybe a charlie horse. You could tell he was labouring a bit when he came back, but he's hiding it well.
