  1. Contract and CBA stuff is frickin boring. All teams got same rules, so level playing field.
  2. If Matthews was 2 days older, he would of gone 3rd in last years draft. Can USA 1-1 so far. Taylor Hall with goal. (make that 2-1 after lil Gallagher scores and on his birthday.)
  3. Does Canada play Slovakia, or will they televise any Slovak games? Would be nice to see Reway play a bit.
  4. So...your saying you are not a big Fluery fan eh.
  5. Bergevin's comment blown up by Montreal media, that unusual. Basic information?..are you a TMZ follower and believe everything the media pumps out as the gospel? Talk about naïve!
  6. Owners should hire smarter GMs, or maybe go back to the bare-faced collusion of the ol days would make owners very very happy!
  7. Over the top fear mongering, maybe a important player and maybe a small crater, but not as big a world ending situation as you propose Mr.Little. And absolutely no question that are stronger or deeper on the backend (and Price dosent hurt neither) than up front, but that isn't saying a lot though, as team isn't deep anywhere cept for RH d-men and bottom six forwards.
  8. Don't think it is quite as simple as that and easy to say as a armchair-GM.
  9. Samsanov...well seems many were pleased with Semin signing and already had Semin getting 15-20 g and were screaming mad when he was sent packing. A big deal about Galchenyuk at centre was made by fan not the Habs and people are still whining endlessly about it. He was told to prepare to play centre early in the summer and fans were let know this in late summer/fall. Bergevin never made any big proclamation about it. And as Therrien said, Galchenyuk was not the same player in the 2nd half of season as he was in the fall. Too bad Habs Mgmt simply are just not as smart as fans are I suppose. (I forgot, when and where is our MENSA convention this year?)
  10. Don't care which position he plays, he would do fine at C or W. But seems majority of good UFAs this year are wingers like Okposo, Eriksson, Ladd, Vrbata, Hudler, Perron, Lucic. So not having to look for a centre this off-season, wont hear "cant win with 14-51 as our top two centres" all summer long, will be nice for a change.
  11. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/best-defencemen-proficient-offence/ seems an interesting ranking of 1st round d-men 'puck skills' or whatever you want to call it
  12. Possibly he should of signed by now and maybe he tried? Maybe he has 100% intention of signing him and hasn't for some likely logical and not moronic reason. Stamkos I think started the fire by trying to have a witty tweet wasn't it, alluding to going to Toronto? But maybe Stamkos has every intention of resigning and is just playing the game at his agent's suggestion?
  13. I would start with #28 as part of trade, but Stogey get upset when I do.
  14. Who said was a problem or issue with Stamkos position? You really think the star player's role is dictated in a head coach vacuum, with zero input from Yzerman, coaching staff, their pro scouts and rest of management. (just a joke) Only a complete moron would buy that scenario and like laying all crap at feet of Therrien you want to make same lame assumptions with other franchises also.
  15. Hopkins is making $6m/yr long term deal and seems a nice target. 222pts in 313gms; 0.70ppg (Galchenyuk 160 in 275 0.58ppg) Yakupov has played 252 NHL games and has 50g-61a, but only makes $2.5m/yr; 0.44ppg
  16. Or Florida, Rangers, Kings, Chicago, Islanders, Caps. Why is it the stupidest move? Who is to say it even a bad move, do you know if he even good at faceoffs and backchecking? Leafs, couple years at a minimum; not one all-star core player on roster, maybe 1 top-4 d-man, cant keep pucks out of net, prospects are exactly that, rookie president in his first NHL job, overrated coach and they are the Leafs so they will shoot themselves in the foot, don't worry.
  17. Maybe Yzerman played him like a fiddle and lit a fire under his ass?
  18. Hope he has same 22 and 23yr old seasons that Tarsenko did with 37 and 40g. Am really looking forward to seeing the 16-17 version of Galcheynuk
  19. Yes, would like to avoid any more Tinordi's taken in 1st round, when defensive d-men like him seem always can be found in 2nd round (as Petrovic and Stephen John's were in 2010). Although Chychrun and Sergachev maybe will have enough offense to make it worthwhile as high pick?
  20. Sure. Maybe one of small d-men Samuel Girard or Adam Fox are good options for 39th or 45th.
  21. But they don't follow it. To trade up from 12 to 9 will cost more than simply the difference in pick stand alone 'value'. I would guess it would call for adding a 2nd pick at minimum not a 4th rounder to move up into top ten.
