  1. He reminds me so much of Guillaume Latendresse
  2. https://www.rocketlaval.com/en/communique-en/nine-players-have-been-cut-from-training-camp/ Nine players have been cut from training camp October 6, 2023 LAVAL – The Laval Rocket announced on Friday that nine players have been cut from training camp, four forwards and five defensemen. Forwards Isaac Dufort (QMJHL) === >>> Ty Smilanic <<< === Alex-Olivier Voyer (Trois-Rivières) Nolan Yaremko (Trois-Rivières) Defensemen Stanislav Demin Eric Hjorth (Trois-Rivières) Noah Laaouan (Trois-Rivières) Andrew Nielsen (Trois-Rivières) Christopher Merisier-Ortiz (Trois-Rivières)
  3. yes, and this is just a training camp/pre-season lineup. I am looking forward to a great season for LVL
  4. First pre-season game. I am curious to see the lineup:
  5. No Pearson, No Armia. that is in-line with what I had looked into before.
  6. they have to get rid of one of these thee if they want to come under the cap with Price still on the books. At least as far as my math can tell me. I checked other combinations, including waiving Armia, and it does not help. A trade is coming to help with the cap, for sure.
  7. sure, but it was a quick way to compare them without spending the evening going through webpage after webpage. Take it for what it is, a quickie
  8. He is a 2nd eound pick, #61 in 2020. Heineman #43 2020, Mesar #26 2022, Kidney #63 2021, Beck #33 2022 and even J. Roy #149 2021, may be ahead of him if he was in the Habs organization. But being tagged a power forward makes him intriguing
  9. I agree, but it is fun to see what may appear on the wire ticker
  10. but wouldn't he be at best a 3rd liner for the Habs that would still have two of Gallagher, Armia and Pearson ? I like Pezz and Ylo, but I am not enamored with them to the point of passing on a better alternative for the 4th line.
  11. one or Pearson or Armia must be traded. With Gallagher's boat anchor contract the Habs cannot carry such expensive bottom-6 forwards. I have not watched much of the preseason: how well has Pearson looked? I have seen some reports that Armia is not looking great
  12. You are so right on this For example, Romanov was a fan favourite but was traded because of the Habs LD prospect pool
  13. I agree, I had him in a couple of trade proposals last season because I do not see a future for him with the Habs. But I am sure he can have at least the career Victor Mete had.
  14. I agree, cap-strapped teams will probably jump on this
  15. I only watched the last two periods and I was not paying too much attention, but from what I saw he looked solid. As strong as Guhle has looked in preseason. On the other hand, I am getting tired of seeing Savard play goalie and flop around like a seal in front of the net. He takes himself out of the play and leaves his D partner out to dry.
  16. Oct. 2, 2023 Victor Mete was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers Cooper Marody was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers Rhett Gardner was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers Adam Brooks was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers Louis Belpedio was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers Kyle Criscuolo was placed on waivers by the New Jersey Devils Gerald Mayhew was placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers Lucas Carlsson was placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers Rasmus Asplund was placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers Derrick Pouliot was placed on waivers by the Dallas Stars Fredrik Karlström was placed on waivers by the Dallas Stars Nicholas Caamano was placed on waivers by the Dallas Stars Gavin Bayreuther was placed on waivers by the Dallas Stars Corey Schueneman was placed on waivers by the Colorado Avalanche Wyatt Aamodt was placed on waivers by the Colorado Avalanche Colton Poolman was placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames Benjamin Jones was placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames Oscar Dansk was placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames Clark Bishop was placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames Kyle Keyser was placed on waivers by the Boston Bruins Matt Villalta was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Ryan McGregor was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes John Leonard was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Justin Kirkland was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Steven Kampfer was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Jan Jeník was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Cameron Crotty was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Travis Barron was placed on waivers by the Arizona Coyotes Glenn Gawdin was placed on waivers by the Anaheim Ducks
  17. I still believe that a healthy Dvorak can be a serviceable 3C on a rebuilding team, until a prospect center emerges from the development pipe
  18. once the season starts, if cp31 is injured, he will go on LTIR. Not off-season IR but regular LTIR. I think that is what they have said they are doing. The is no point not using that cap relief. So, yeah, development plan and management choices, not the tail wagging the dog.
  19. from a cap management perspective, not merit or talent. there are 11 forwards, 11 defensemen and 3 goaltenders still at camp: https://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/2023-10-01/le-canadien/qui-reste-t-il-au-camp.php?sharing=true 3 goalies that are waiver eligible: Allen, Montembeault, Primeau 11 defensement- 2 Injured (Wideman, Matheson) - 3 AHL-waiver-excempt: NHLers: Savard, Kovacevic Waiver eligible: Lindström, Waiver excempt: Barron, Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj AHLers: Mailloux, Norlinder Lindstrom seems to be in Wideman's spot until he is back from IR. The D seem set (in bold) That leaves 15 remaining forwards vying for 13 spots (Dvorak on IR): Top-6: Anderson, Caufield, Dach, Suzuki, Newhook, Monahan Bottom 6 NHLers: Evans, Armia, Gallagher, Pearson That leaves 3 spots for these 5 players: Waiver eligible: Pezzetta, Ylönen Waiver excempt: Harvey-Pinard, Slafkovsky, Heineman So, out of the remaining forwards, the cuts will depend on the organizations development plan more than anything else.
