  1. Dude! I'm just a fan. I didn't have the info on my phone when posting. Chill, man ⛄
  2. Florian is bot at the same level, he is a long shot. Between Beck and Kapanen, If one is a lefty and the other a righty, I would play them on the same line and have them take draws on their strong sides. They are complementary and would make a heck of a good duo on a third line
  3. Because KK underperforming has better numbers than Newhook doing his 110% best. I would not trade one for the other, I am done with KK; but if he is bought out… I would not be surprised some suggest we resign him based on comparing to Dach and Newhook
  4. No, Kapanen is like @dlbalr describes him, I would add that he is your prototypical mid-6 European prospect. Beck is your prototypical mid-6 Canadian prospect: gritty, skilled, aware on the ice, disciplined and smart. IMHO he is closer to Plekanek than Evans
  5. whom do you prefer? https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_compare.php?players[]=4822&players[]=5821&period=2024-2025%3AR%3A99
  6. this: The reason why he pushed Tuch out of the lineup, the heart and guts type of veteran needed to advance in the playoffs.
  7. that is exactly what I posted on another thread.
  8. yes, Kapanen certainly looks like a potential NHL 3rd line center, If only he does not turn into deLaRose who was touted as NHL ready before coming to North America. I have been pretty high on Kapanen for a while. He has been impeccable in the AHL playoffs
  9. the second goal caught him off guard and he should have done better, but the others were due to poor defensive coverage leaving him out to dry. The Rocket was flat to begin the game and never found its usual rhythm, it seemed like the game plan didn't work and like the coaching team could not find a spark, a like change, a play to build on-top. Let's see how Fowler does. Charlotte muzzled and out-muscled Laval.
  10. I agree with rotation, but starting with Primeau on game one. I will be shocked otherwise
  11. because he si a RHD, his value is higher than you may think. Also, he was solid all season and inky came undone a couple of times but bounced back each time to the new improved version of himself
  12. Mailloux is a long-term project, he will struggle his first NHL seasons but eventually will be a top-4 defenseman playing on the second PP unit. He missed lots of development time and he needs to mature his game. At this moment, he may be an ok 3rd pair defenseman in the NHL but his foot work will expose him. I disagree with most on this forum about his portential. He is trending to be a second-pair regular defenseman in the NHL, but he sill need lots of playing time to get there.
  13. very happy for Roy, when he gets to the front of the net, battles to gain that centre shooting lane, he does well. The whole team played a solid game, Mailloux is much better when he reins-in his game and doesn't over commit. Primeau was great.
  14. But this being the Rocket thread, I wanted to also say that I like how well Mailloux played all season knowing that he still needs to learn to handle high pressure games. Same for Roy, he needs to be co stay my in fro t of the net to make a difference. And Primeau probably does not want this tone his last game in Laval; probably he wants to win to continue to show how good he can be. He has been as good as Levi in the AHL this season.
  15. we are underselling Mailloux. He has as much value as Barron had on the Lehkonen trade. Newhook was brought in, same as Dach, as a potential 2C; either is a 2C but are fine as third liners. That has a late 2nd or high 3rd round pick value. Primeau’s value is same as Montembeault’s when he was waived, but the Habs have better options: I much rather see him traded than lost for nothing. Trading all of these in a package to a team like the NYI would be my goal but it would need and anchor piece to get back something g useful for the Habs.
  16. I never said that it would bring back a Bennet. Just saying that bundling enough of the player that do not fit the NHL lineup construction for “a nice return” would be preferable than exposing the team to loosing them on waivers or using a contract spot for no reason The NHL roster needs a boost
  17. I have always thought that Mailloux would never be a regular with the Habs given his past. I believe he will be traded like Barron was traded to the Habs. Roy is the same, a nice kid that doesn’t have a role in the NHL with the Habs botj should be packaged with a high draft pick and either Dach or Newhook for a nice return
  18. last game was one where Mailloux reminds me of Petry when they are trying to do too much and end up hurting the team. I how he has a much better (quieter) game today
  19. glad for the kid, he was "en fuego" last game
  20. and yet, he is a finalist in this search. He had success in finding bottom of the barrel players to support an existing core. He was a son of a beach in negotiations and managed the cap like a mobster, and was a players GM. I think he would fit fine on the NYI market, but would need a “Gorton” type to share the load. Shannahan-Bergevin-Roy would be a good complementary team
  21. I am hoping he will be ready for a call up after the Christmas break next season. Really looking forward to that
