Am I the only Habs fan that has had enough of Galchenyuk?
Commandant replied to THE Bobby Orr's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
He's shit and he doesn't score HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA -
Nesterov lost his man on that goal, Sergachev tried to cover up for him but couldn't. Just couldn't get there, but not Sergachev's fault, its all on Nesterov.

Terrible most of the season? He has a higher ppg this season than last year. The only difference is the injury. -

Price wanted to play. He is the one who told the coach he didn't want to sit a week between games. He is the one who wanted to play and picked tonight. I'm fine with that. -

Its a festivus miracle. -
If he signs a contract he can play. Once he signs a contract he can't go back to school next year though.

We need to lose this one to #### over the leafs? Call up Fucale, put him in net. Play Dwight King 25 minutes. Put Therrien back behind the bench for one night. Whatever it takes man. -
Going to Game 2

But he's not leading.... He's 37th when you take the Bell Centre out of the equation. When you equalize it so everyone is measured on their road stats (so no one rink can have too big an effect). He's not a top turnover guy. He's got 24 road turnovers. The variation between 37th and like 100th, is tiny too.

Edmonton, San Jose, Montreal, are seriously skewed. Other teams are slightly skewed Montreal has 3 of the top 16, 5 of the top 40. Team (Home, Road) San Jose (749, 308) Edmonton (595, 313) Montreal (600, 311) Home Giveaways the league wide spread is from 156-749 Road Giveaways the worst team is 359, the best 232 The stat is ####ED Petry is 73 at home, 27 on the road. (NEARLY TRIPLE) Emelin is 65 at home 19 on the road. If we only look at Road Stats... (Equalize bias for all players. Petry is 37th in the NHL. The top 10 in road giveaways. 1. Karlsson 2. Crosby 3. Burns 4. Klingberg 5. Yandle 6. Seabrook 7. Dougthy 8. Brodie 9 Kucherov 10. Chara. What does leading the league in giveaways even mean? Players with lots of giveaways are amongst the best players in the NHL, cause they touch the puck the most.

Even on one's on team, how much you handle the puck is indicative of how many turnovers you'll have. Guys who handle the puck more have more turnovers, that's just reality. But one also has to ask, are all turnovers created equal? No, a turnover that occurs in an area where the defenceman can recover and stop the other team from getting a scoring chance is not comparable to one where you giveup a breakaway. Scoring Chances For, Scoring chances against... this is what matters. There are so many better stats than turnovers... such as xGF, Corsi, Fenwick, etc... I don't know why we give a flying fadoo about turnovers.
-
San Jose is another rink where the home/road splits are funky. Thats why I put zero stock into turnovers. Corsi is much more reliable. Alot less grey area in what is an attempted shot, and what isn't.
-
Seriously? Do you even understand that I'm not even comparing the two players at all here?
-
This has NOTHING to do with the Weber vs P.K. debate.... NOTHING. This is entirely about how the Bell Centre turnover stats are unreliable. I merely used Weber vs PK cause their stats show that... when PK was in montreal he was at the top of the league and Weber wasn't... they were traded and the numbers flipped. Hence its all about the scorekeeper when it comes to this stat. If you don't understand that this is not about the trade, I can't help you.
-
Of course... the turnovers in road games, stayed about the same. There was only a significant increase in Weber's home turnovers. So nope... that explanation fails. For some reason the Habs commit 2.5 x more turnovers at home vs on the road. In fact the Habs commit more than double the turnovers at home, than ANY TEAM in the league commits on the Road.
-
How does that make him have way more turnovers at home, but basically the same amount on the road as the previous year? Answer: It doesn't account for it. The reality is that bell centre guys count dumping the puck into the corner, or dumping it out to centre as a turnover and other rinks don't.
-
Obviously Petry isn't perfect, no one is saying he is. But he also not one of the most turnover prone players in the league either, this is all about the way stats are kept. Your Subban explanation fails to account for why Weber has so many more turnovers this season, why the two have basically flipped positions on those charts.
-
Montreal has 2 defenceman in the top 10 players in the NHL 3 defencemen in the top 16 players in the NHL 5 defencemen in the top 40 players in the NHL in turnovers. Carey Price is 78th in the NHL in turnovers. CAREY PRICE How high he is in the league? Completely meaningless when other rinks don't score the same way. P.K. Subban dropped from being a top 5 guy in the league to the mid 60s. Shea Weber went from having very few turnovers in Nashville to top 16 in the NHL. You really think it means something?
-
You could say it. Doesn't mean there is a mountain of players who played that way who regressed early. On the other hand there is a mountain of defensive defencemen whose bodies fall them in their early to mid-30s. I'm not just saying it, i'm looking at what has happened in the league in the last 20 years.
-
Sit on the floor.
-
Does it matter? He has more than double the number of turnovers at home, as he does on the road. As do all Habs defencemen. As do all defencemen who played for the Habs in the last decade. The stat is meaningless, when its not consistent rink to rink.

Beaulieu and Nesterov were both TERRIBLE

An extra month or two of mortgage is worth it if we win the cup.

He could join the Ice Caps. Not sure how ready he is for AHL though.

Kingston wins.
