  1. Vanek was a better PPG player in Montreal than he has been in Minnesota. Was letting him walk really the wrong decision?
  2. I wasn't addressing anyone in particular, more rhetorical questions to the complaints about why we haven't made a big trade. Played more at LW from what I've seen, but I've also seen him at RW at times. Could be like Carr/Ghetto/Byron/Flynn/Weise all guys we have used on both wings at varying times.
  3. Has there been anyone better at getting primary assists. "At just 20-years of age, Drouin's best hockey is still several years in front of him. That's not to say Drouin isn't an NHL ready asset at this stage of his career, as his 1.6 p/60 is good for fifth on the Canucks roster at even strength. Of note is that Drouin's rate production at even strength actually checks out as the highest on the Lightning, among players with 100+ minutes played." http://canucksarmy.com/2016/1/3/should-the-vancouver-canucks-kick-the-tires-on-jonathan-drouin
  4. are deals happening around the league? Sure. 1) Did anyone want Vinny Lecavalier and Luke Schenn, cause I bet we could have got those guys? Oh wait, they kinda suck at hockey in 2016... yeah thats an issue. 2) Did anyone want Ryan Johansen? Oh yeah, me too. Did we have seth jones or equivalent? Well Beaulieu isn't an equivalent to Seth Jones, and I wouldn't give up PK Subban for Johansen so no we were kinda out of the running there. So what move are you upset Bergevin hasn't made, again?
  5. Drouin rookie year, 32 points Number of times in Eller's 7 year career he's scored 32 points = 0
  6. At his size, and his salary (low) someone will see him as a project worth taking. That said, I don't hate him on our fourth line. He's just not going to be a top 9 guy. Which is fine as long as he's not paid too much.
  7. We weren't getting much for tokarski, and this move doesn't prevent us from making other moves. It as irrelevant to the question of needing a big trade, as the fact we will play the Penguins on Saturday. Both will happen. Neither changes the fact that MB needs to make a big trade for scoring. Neither prevents the move.
  8. Damnit Don, beat me to it. Anyways here is my scouting report on Friberg from the summer. http://lastwordonsports.com/2015/09/03/tsp-anaheim-ducks-prospects-2/
  9. Washington i understand cause its a 1 year deal, at $1,000,000 (prorated to half a season is $500k in cap hit and real money). Its pretty low risk. If he's a fourth line centre, he's worth the money (and if he plays in your top 9 its a steal) If he isn't good enough for 4th line, you send him to the AHL and its just $500,000 in cash and very little (like $50K) on the cap. The LA deal makes no sense to me.
  10. I'm not saying that is the trade.... I'm just saying that he immediately improves our top 6.
  11. 5'11" is not that small. Has 40 points in 89 games averaging about ~10 minutes a night. Is just 20 years old. Give me the 5'11 guy who has skill on Galchenyuk's wing over the 6'2 guy in our top 6 who doesn't score any day of the week.
  12. Petry was hurt too, i think he's playing less than 100%
  13. Habs have won 3 of their last 5 games. Things are turning.
  14. I can confirm from a strong source the Habs are aggressively pursuing Drouin. as per Brian Wilde Chat Conversation End
  15. Lecavalier announces he will retire after this season.
  16. Your choices in season are again Lefebvre and Boucher. In the offseason there might be more.
  17. The long 8 game road trip from hell is over, and not a moment too soon, as the Habs were only able to come up with 4 of a possible 16 points on the road. They hope that the Bell Centre will provide the tonic for ending these losing ways and getting the team out of the slump. But it will take more than just a change in venue to reverse their fortunes. Last night's effort against the Flyers was putrid, even if the game was close, the score flattered the Habs in the city of brotherly love. Michel Therrien will need to get more out of his core players, or the Bell Centre will be full of boo birds and the confines will not be friendly to the home team. Based on those on the ice for the optional skates, it sounds like Thomas Fleischmann will bear the brunt of yesterdays loss, and be today's healthy scratch. Tlusty-Zajac-Palmieri Kennedy-Henrique-Stempniak Matteau-Kalinin-Sislo Farnham-Gionta-Tootoo Greene-Moore Schlemko-Larsson Merrill-Severson Schneider Kinkaid @ Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher Carr - Galchenyuk - Andrighetto Eller - Desharnais - Byron Flynn - Mitchell - Smith-Pelly Beaulieu- Subban Markov- Petry Emelin- Barberio Condon Scrivens
  18. Carr is not tiny i've seen this written in so many places. Just because he plays the same style as Gallagher doesn't mean he's the same size. Carr is 6'0 195 lbs. He's not huge, but he's not tiny.... he's average NHL size.
  19. That line made two critical errors chuck on the first goal for philly Carr on the second goal for philly Likely had a lot to do with the decreased ice.
  20. This team (almost the entire team with a couple exceptions) didn't come to play tonight. Of all the losses this is the first one where I start to see signs of Therrien losing the room. We'll see tomorrow though, if they play hard tomorrow he might still have these guys... if they lay another egg, he's done.
  21. Eller is not good enough to get anything significant cause his contract is an anchor, if i put him in a trade proposal its usually for cap reasons.
