  1. Galchenyuk 1 assist Yakupov 1 goal 1 assist As the Sting tie their first round series 1-1.
  2. In WHL playoffs Gallagher 2g 2a last night (7pts in 2 games) puts Vancouver up 2-0 in series. Holland 1g 1a last night (4pts in 2 games) puts TriCity up 2-0 in their series. Dietz (1a in gm 1) is down 0-2 in his series.
  3. Canes 4 pts up on us plus hold the tiebreaker (row).
  4. Is Hot Hot Hot the Flyers goal song. Lololololololol Losers
  5. Yeah, like I said, I couldn't care less if its tonight or we put it off to Monday. We aren't getting in, might as well tank it up.
  6. only a sophomore, I strongly suspect he goes back to school because of the number of D coming this season. I would guess so, but henry might be brought back for experience.
  7. Minny 1- sabres 1 Go Minny (for tank reasons, I don't care about the e).
  8. Vinny may have progressed under Torts but in 2003 or 2002 he had a big war with with the coach. In MontreaL instead of Tampa it may have ended a lot differently.
  9. Nash, Tinordi, Beaulieu, all play LeftD; St. Denis can play both, Ellis and Pateryn are Right D.
  10. I think Stejskal and Nash are the only guys signed for next year, but I'm not 100% sure. I think Henry might get an offer, and St.Denis will be qualified, but the rest I doubt it.
  11. Kristo and MacMillan 1 assist each in UND's 3-1 victory.
  12. Well we have hired a lot of rookies, our last permanent coach hire wasn't a rookie. I think its important we get him an experienced assistant like Dave King was for Vigneault, I think Robinson would be a good hire with Roy.
  13. His KHL stats are nothing to write home about.
  14. Sutter didn't get axed in Jersey, he left when his contract was up. Lamorello didn't want to lose him, but he left to work with his brother. DeBoer may not have done great with Florida but I look at his team and ask what was he supposed to do with them? Also I look at a Bylsma, yes he was in the AHL, but it was 1/2 a season, not exactly a long time. I also see guys like Boucher who make the jump in one year. I don't think its that big a difference between QMJHL OHL, WHL and AHL as far as coaching goes. I do agree NHL experienced coaches are usually preferable to those without (if all else is equal) but I don't see a difference between AHL or CHL coaches if they are rookies.
  15. I think we'll continue to see high profile GMs at the Sarnia games. Everyone will want their own looks at both Yakupov and Galchenyuk after the injuries. Burke was also spotted at the Remparts (Grigorenko) game Thursday.
  16. I think St. Denis is in, not sure who is out.
  17. Pat Burns, Dave Tippett, Alain Vigneault, Brent Sutter, Pete DeBoer, all went this route.
  18. The Q is a highly competitive league and Roy has spent nearly a decade there building a winner year in and year out. To me this is more valuable than AHL coaching because he is getting both coach and GM experience
  19. After 4 years he has the same problems though, no Number 1 goalie, no Number 1 Centre, no Number 1 defenceman (sorry but Dion is a #2 or 3 at best), you'd think that after 4 years hed fill one of those spots. His team also doesn't exactly subscribe to a top 6/bottom 6 philosophy he speaks of, nor do they excude belligerence, truculence and testosterone as he said they would. The blowhard has been an unmitigated failure in his tenure to date.
  20. nearly 4 years into what burke said "will not be a 5 year rebuild" the team's record is worse than the team JFJ left. This will be the 4th april burke watches his team miss playoffs, and the spot in the standings is not improving.
  21. no minimum for in-persons. Only rule is max five games for phone hearings. Agree 100%
  22. Two GM candidates who have lot of support are Pierre Mcguire (absolute failure in his last NHL job, never a GM, 13+ years in media) and Vincent Damphousse (no GM experience, a few months working for the NHLPA, now on RDS). I don't see how Roy is a worse choice than these guys.
  23. Bottom line JFJ's record > Burkes 3.75 seasons each. 1 playoff appearance and series win vs 0. 1 bottom 10 finish vs 3 1 finish where they missed playoffs on very last day of season vs 0 times actually having a chance.
  24. I still want Roy as coach and apprenticing for a future role as GM with someone like Lacroix above him. I don't mind him as GM with a good advisor above him like Lacroix again. I have a feeling its going to be Roy as GM, with Gainey as advisor, and a capologist as Assistant GM. (Ie Lacroix not available, Gainey still having some trust with Molson, and a cap specialist helping). I know there is some anti-Gainey sentiment out there, but I don't think this would be a horrible arrangement either.
  25. AHL teams love weekend games for attendance reasons and so three in three is a common occurence around the league, makes your AHL backup goalie very important, he's gonna play 35-40% of games for most teams. Hamilton is also on a brutal road trip as Copps Coliseum was unavailable for Disney on Ice and a few other events.
