  1. Washington didn't have the cap space to take on Cammy. Sure you can say... Semin out Cammy in is the same cap space... but that only works this season. What does Washington do next year when Vokoun doesn't take a second straight year of a discount... when Mike Green gets a raise, when John Carlson gets a raise, and when Dennis Wideman needs replacing.
  2. Not 100% convinced they aren't still trying to sign AK46. You still need 3 lines worth of offensive wingers, and moving Cammy and AK out while only bringing in Bourque creates a hole. I think they try and keep him.
  3. I just like the buy low, sell high approach to managing assets, and this feels like Selling Low. In fact it feels like selling at rock bottom given the season he's had and comments made.
  4. This might be fair value today. But if the same trade was offered for Cammalleri one year ago, would we have done it? I don't think we would have, and thats why I hate selling the guy at his lowest possible value.
  5. Scary about the Ducks guys is the looming UFA in 2013 for both Getzlaf and Perry.
  6. As for production over the last 2.5 Nearly every player under JM's system has produced less than he did on his previous team, and nearly every player that left produced more outside Montreal. I still like JM and still think he was a big reason for our success, and being 3-8-0 since he was fired doesn't change my opinion on that... but I do think he sacrificed offensive production for wins. I think you can't look at Cammy's production without that in mind, and without realizing there is a good chance he produces more elsewhere. Meanwhile, our team isnt exactly breaking out the goals under Cunneyworth, so I'm guessing Bourque's production may fall in Montreal. This track record shouldn''t be brushed aside so lightly
  7. I think Gill and Moen will get much better returns than the 7 and 4 that you heard on the radio.... Much much better.... 3 and 2 would be my goals. I also think Weber should be traded, no place for him. I'd look for 2nd or a prospect. Campoli gone. get me a 3rd or 4th. Darche shopped to anyone who will listen for a 7th (though i don't think I'll get it). I don't think Markov will be back before the deadline... so I don't think you can move Kaberle, Kaberle has 10 pts in 14 games as a Hab now... I don't even see the point in moving him. You need him to be a plan B if Markov is hurt going forward. You won't know about Markov pre deadline IMO.
  8. Pleks can stay at Centre. DD needs to become a wing, and another C (one with size) needs to be acquired.
  9. I agree 100% ... the value might not be awful. But the timing and the optics it represents are. And trading the guy at his lowest possible value is not a very good idea.
  10. One thing on the "GM who didn't know Cammy was available" Cammy had a partial NTC where he couldn't be traded to 7 teams. What if that GM is from one of those 7 teams?
  11. I fear cammy will explode in a new city.... like every problem child we trade away. we sell these guys at such low value, thats my biggest issue.
  12. Who is he? The guy who has led our team in scoring for the last 3 years? Like last year when he shut down the Kreijci line in the playoffs. Or the year before when he helped to shut down Crosby. All while being the centre who was setting up Cammalleri at the other end of the ice?
  13. Oh great the +/- stat as the be all and end all of measuring one player's defensive game. This might be the dumbest argument I've seen made on this board since I've been here. Never mind the fact its based on one season.
  14. So an 18 year old is your number 1 centre. Like I said, welcome to tanking for 3 years. I like Grigorenko a lot, but hes not Sidney Crosby and isn't gonna score 100 pts as a rookie. He's gonna take time.
  15. And who is your new best centre? Welcome to tanking for at least 3-4 years if you move Pleks for picks and prospects.
  16. Holland is in the WHL. Gallagher is much, much better than Holland in PPG ratio. He's nearly a goal per game and nearly 2 pts per game. In the QMJHL Bournival is nearly a goal per game... and well over a PPG In the AHL Palushaj is over a PPG and leads the Bulldogs in scoring. Engqvist is nearly a PPG.
  17. According to another writer (Chris Stevenson) the deal has been in the works since December. And if a GM didn't know Cammy was available, he wasn't doing his job.
  18. Holland may have been a 7th rounder; but was good enough to get an invite to Canada's Summer Camp for World Juniors.
  19. Bourque + Holland + 2nd for Cammy + Kari Ramo + 5th
