  1. I think there is overreaction to the comments of Murray here. Basically all he said was that he would listen to any offer, for any player that doesn't have a NTC. Not that he's actively shopping them. Every GM listens to these offers. If Gretzky can be traded, no player is truly "untradeable".... If a GM makes a bad decision and overpays for a guy, you still make the deal.
  2. The move, if executed correctly is unstoppable. If Mason stays at home, anticipating the spin, Eller roofs it over him on the forehand... when he follows and eller does the spin; its a goal. Only way to stop this move is if the player messes up (shoots over the net or wide... loses the puck.... falls, etc...) Its almost unfair to a goalie.
  3. Considering he's already a good third liner and is only just turned 22 with 1.5 years in the league. Saying its "a stretch" to see him as a 2nd liner is vastly discounting him.
  4. Agreed, if he can be a number 2 C who can score 60 pts and play a solid 2 way game, that would be huge for us. He doesn't have to lead the league in scoring.
  5. Gallagher is always in the crease. Always.
  6. I think Markov has to play a little, even if just for 4-5 weeks in March/April just to show we can rely on him next season. Normally I'd say shut a vet down early... but I don't like the idea of going into next season counting on him, when he'll have played 7 games in two years.
  7. With the cap being over 8 million dollars more today than it was 3 years ago when he first signed?
  8. He had 3 pts in 3 games since his benching; before last night. He's always seemed like a guy who is one step away from turning on the offence. I really hope this means a corner has been turned with him. He's 22 years old.. not at all comparable to Bulis who had his 4 goal game as a veteran where we knew it was a one time thing and thats what he was. I don't expect 4 goal nights every night from him... but I think we are finally seeing him start to bring the offence. And its exactly the same timeline (though a younger age) to where Plekanec started to change from a checking line centre into a producer in January 2007.
  9. Other than the first game last year, Gomez was not better than Plekanec in the 2011 playoffs. Gomez was great in game 1 and then disappeared. Plekanec meanwhile was doing yeoman's work keeping the Kreijci line in check, while helping to bring offence and his winger (cammalleri) was leading the entire league in points at the time of the elimination. It was Gomez's matchup... the Bergeron-Recchi-Marchand line that killed us in that series... Thats where Pleks is so much more valuable.
  10. Winchester was a huge minus player and is a defensive liability.. Moen has been a huge part of a largely successful penalty killing unit throughout his time in Montreal,, and in Anaheim before that. He won't be looking for work very long if he goes to UFA.
  11. He may not get an increase, but he makes 1.5 now. Why would he take a pay cut?
  12. Blunden probably gets sent down, and Desharnais converted to wing IMO. Unless there are more injuries, which is possible. And the selling of guys like Kostitsyn, Moen, could begin in February if we don't have a monster month of January.
  13. Ellis 1 goal 2 assists in his debut for Shawinigan.
  14. Mark Stuart... you can take the man out of Boston but you can't take the idiot out of the man #jets #habs
  15. So the Eller/Halak trade just gets better and better......
  16. 6 pts now in 4 games since being benched. If this kid finally puts it together.... similar to how Plekanec did in the second half of the 06-07 season; the Habs biggest problem could solve itself.
  17. God Damnit Darche... watching the replay he ######ing bailed on the shot block there.
  18. Kaberle loves the goal song so much he's shooting the puck and scoring goals.
  19. Kaberle first goal, and 8th pt in 11 games as a Hab. Eller with another point too.
  20. Or we can watch Eller do that and see what it means for his development. And I love the old goal song.
  21. I've just given up completely on making the playoffs this season, and accepted the fact that for at least this year, we have an opportunity to grab the star forward we need.
