The thing with Roseanne's anthem is that it was intentionally meant to be funny. The way she grabs her crotch, the way she spits on the diamond, she was trying to imitate a baseball player and was making a statement about the singing of anthems at sporting events. Her message was lost, and her joke wasn't funny and went over like a lead balloon but that was what I think she was trying to do with it. These other anthems aren't meant to be funny, they are collosal screw ups.

You need guys who can actually handle the minutes.... thats why I'm hugely in favour of White, Moen, Prust types and against carrying a Staubitz or Laraque type next year.
-
Lets not overrate the surge in record and attribute it all to Staubitz and White being in the lineup. Lets not forget the difference Markov makes, which is a lot bigger than Staubitz IMO. Lets also not forget the fact that the team playing better when the pressure is off and the playoffs are out of reach is something that happens to many teams. And even then this record is only a slight improvement and could be attributed to small sample size/opponents or many other things. Lets not forget that the Habs best play this season came in late October-November-Early december when they overcame the disasterous start and were actually 1 game above 500 when Martin was fired. This was all done without a Staubitz in the lineup. Lastly they've done well the last two years without a Staubitz in the lineup, as have other teams, Chicago 2010 (Eager is best seen as equivalent to a Moen and not a true heavyweight)... Carolina's Cup team... not to mention Detroit for years and years and years haven't had a goon. I don't think you can draw the conclusion that Staubitz and White have made this difference. White has basically just replaced Moen anyways.

I still think DD eventually moves to wing. Way too much up in the air to know what we have to spend, but Price and Subban are priority 1 and 2, then we need a defenceman and a winger (how you order those I don't know). I personally think D is a bigger need because i think our draftee will be playing in the top 9 or Gallagher or Kristo will win a top 9 role.

He was named a pro scout a few weeks after he was relieved of his duties as coach. They have to pay him either way. They did the same with Pearn. Not unusual, Hitchcock was a scout for Columbus when St. Louis hired him.

I don't think you take the guy who led your team in goals for two straight years and stick him on the third line after one year with some injuries.
-
Gionta needs a top 6 spot (though not necessarily with Plek)
-
Minnesota beats North Dakota 5-2. Kristo had a goal. MacMillan and Kristo's seasons are over and it is now time for the Habs to try and sign Kristo. London takes a 2-0 series lead with a 3-2 win over Windsor.

Wild lose Isles/Panthers goes to shootout

Three games to watch today. Right now we have isles 0 / Panthers 1 and Wild 0 / Caps 0, plus ducks/bruins tonight.

Oilers win! We are in 29th (I think) can someone check ROW?

<p> I made a list on the other page but Pat Burns would be one answer. Brent Sutter in Jersey would be another. Then you have Bylsma who had half a season in the AHL (what did he learn in half a year that he didn't know in junior?).

The picks used to take Rick Nash and Marc-Andre Fleury were also trade downs, but I can't look them up right now.

Great Progress, in addition to this he played with Pateryn all season on the #1 shutdown pair, and despite the frozen four upset (1 game) Michigan was one of the best teams all year (and you know it pains me to say that). The upset in OT is one of those things that happen in a system with one and done eliminations. Without Pateryn and Bennett making great plays (diving to keep the puck in by Pateryn pass to Bennett who took the shot) the game wouldnt have reached OT, not their fault at all for the loss.

Dietz didnt even play last night, he was suspended for a game 1 incident. I'm not even sure why or what happened. The length of the suspension will be announced tomorrow.

There are plenty of coaches who win Cups in their first NHL stop (not always first year, but with the first team to give them a job). I dont think being a rookie is enough to write off Roy if you think he can do the job.

Meh, whether it was friday or saturday or next week, didnt really matter we all knew it was coming. Hanging on for 2 or 3 more days wouldnt have stopped the inevitable, and its been inevitable since at least the stretch after the Allstar game, if not before then.

Steroids help your body recover from injury and take the grind of an 82 game season. They heal the wear and tear of the 82 game season and keep you stronger. If you notice Ovechkin now goes on hot and cold steaks. He didnt use to have as many cold streaks, or nearly as long. He was on almost every game when he was at his best. Also the style change and being less reckless out there could be part self-preservation without the healing effects of the anabolics. If this is true, it might not be.

Ovie has been good the past two years but not at the same level of greatness as before. That as well as the timing of this story, scare the crap out of me. I'm not saying they are connected but it has to be a red flag. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Report-Steroid-dealer-boasts-of-sales-to-Washin?urn=nhl,166076 That is from two years ago and Ovy hasnt been the same player since.
