  1. go habs go I heard Kovalev isn't in the line up. He's projected to play on Tuesday against Ottawa ;| Koivu is project to play against Minnesota.
  2. How about being a Habs fan and living right across the Air Canada Center? That could spell disaster
  3. About freakin' time Julien plays the rookies.
  4. I'm going to have to go to with a Canadian city (Winnipeg, sorry Quebec) or an American city that's high on hockey.
  5. Too bad his missed. Nice effort though.
  6. That trade was a possible basis of a deal. More players were probably going to be added.
  7. Kosty got the call. I HOPE HE PLAYS MORE THAN 1 FREAKIN' SHIFT TONIGHT!
  8. After seeing last night's game of the Pens against the Wings, the Pens are doomed if they remain in Pittsburgh. If it wasn't for Fleury this team would have easily lost 15-0. He made save after save after save after save after save after save after save after save after save and did this all night long while his teammates were useless. All the turnovers throughout the game, anyone else in nets would have crashed and burned but this time Fleury seems to have gained more confidence in his play. So many odd man rushes for Detroit that I felt bad for Sid and all Pens fans around. At one point, they showed Sid (who was wearing a mic) just telling his teammates (he was talking to Gonchar at the time) to work harder and try to gain control of the puck to get some offence going. At one point Zetterberg just walked right through the Pens D while they were on powerplay and scored a nice shorthanded goal. If you ask me this team needs new coaching and maybe a change of scenary.
  9. Wanted to quote myself on this one and say after seeing last night's game of Detroit against the Penguins, I do not have any more doubts on Marc-Andre Fleury being in the NHL. This guy kept the freakin' Pens in the game. I hope the Pens pass on Lalime.
  10. Kovalev was on the fourth line in the playoffs? I don't remember that at all I remember he was bumped down to third and I think fourth when he was acquired and was doing nothing.
  11. One of the draft strategies that the Habs made public in the recent draft was that they wanted to draft both Dan Ryder and Sergei Kostitsyn if they were available when it was their turn. Looks like Calgary screwed the Habs over on that one
  12. I wouldn't trade one of our future top six wingers for Sykora, the Habs have wasted so many draft picks and that it would be a shame to trade them all away (or some of them) for Sykora who makes way too much money if you ask me. On another note, man when is this guy going to be traded? If I were him right now I would be losing my mind trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Only Brian Burke does, no one else. Edit: Typo [Edited on 2005/12/13 by Tony]
  13. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Pens take a stab at Lalime.
  14. Hmmm Portland does sound interesting now that you mention it.
  15. Some of the possible NHL cities that people have been discussing for years is Kansas City and Winsconcin. By the way for your interests: The Kansas City Scouts were a National Hockey League (NHL) expansion team that began operations in 1974, after the city was awarded a franchise on June 8, 1972. The first choice for a nickname was the MO-Hawks, an attempt to appeal to both the state of Kansas and the state of Missouri by playing off the Jayhawk name and incorporating Missouri's postal abbreviation, but the name was vetoed by the Chicago Blackhawks. The second choice, the Scouts, was taken. They played their home games at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. The team was not a particular success either at the gate or on the ice, failing even to lead the league in losses (a distinction that went to the Washington Capitals, a fellow expansion team). Scout Steve Durbano did lead the league in penalty minutes during the 1975-76 season, however. For a time in late 1975, the team looked like it could actually make the playoffs -- after a 3-1 win over California December 28 they stood just one point behind St. Louis in the weak Smythe Divison -- but hopes were dashed when the Scouts could win only one of their remaining 44 games (1-35-8). Efforts by management to save the franchise by selling 8,000 season tickets failed, and the club only sold 2,000. After two seasons, with its owners $900,000 in debt, the team left to be come the Colorado Rockies, who in turn became the New Jersey Devils after 1982. The Scouts were the first NHL team since the 1934-35 NHL season to relocate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas_City_Scouts
  16. Kovalev is a machine but he's return shouldn't be rushed. Last thing that the teams needs is for him to mess up his knee more
  17. Nice. I'm guessing people talked shit to you?
  18. On the RDS website people are losing their minds and saying that the Pens should go to Quebec.
  19. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=146628&hubname= Associated Press 12/11/2005 2:05:47 PM PITTSBURGH (AP) - Penguins owner-captain Mario Lemieux said he is doubtful that the team will remain in Pittsburgh after its Mellon Arena lease expires in 2007, citing a lack of progress on a new arena. The Penguins are projecting a $7 million US loss this season, a figure that assumes the team will draw near-capacity crowds and advance to the second round of the playoffs. ''I think we're really running out of time,'' Lemieux said. ''We probably ran out of time already. It's been unfortunate that the city and the county haven't been willing to work with us over the last two or three years.'' Lemieux has said for several years that the Penguins would not be able to survive in Pittsburgh without a new arena. Mellon Arena is the oldest and smallest arena in the National Hockey League. The lease allows the team to solicit offers for the franchise beginning in June 2006. Kansas City is among the cities that have expressed interest in the team. ''We'll sit down with everybody and understand what's at stake for our investment and what's best for the franchise'' when the board of directors is scheduled to meet this week, Lemieux said. ------------------------ Second round of the playoffs a bit optimistic if you ask me. Anyway, I wonder which city will get the Pens? A new city or maybe going back to a old city like Winipeg, Quebec, Hartford and so on.
  20. Freakin' Columbus is always stealing our defensemen through waivers
  21. The Dogs explosed last night, they won 7-1. Only thing that ticked me off is that Kosty only got one assist
