I'm not denying the idiocy of the riots, but i believe you said habs fans were the worst on the planet. As far as I know, habs fans have yet to kill a player, supporters of other teams or even sent out massive amounts of death threats to a player or players. Just seemed like a statement that you made with very little backing other than 3 riots over the span of 50 years (the one last year was started by street gangs i believe) and booing of certain players.

I interpreted fairie as saying that no one could resist sex if there were no consequences. a. there has to be consequences b. there is a rather large culture of asexual and celibate people. To suggest that they only choose to live this way because they "can't get any" is a bit absurd to me.

My point with the bank was in response to faerie's argument of sex without any sort of consequences. It was weak, but the basis still stands, every action has positive consequences and negative consequences. To me there is no use in thinking of an action that is absent of consequences.

hooking up with random girls on vacation would seem to have limited long-term prospects. the money and happiness argument is an interesting one but i feel that would be getting even further off topic.

I can say for sure that this would be the thought process of some individuals yes.

I know it's not a perfect comparison, but under the pretense that there are no consequences on either side (sex or robbing banks) there would still be people who decide to resist their instincts in both occasions. Maybe because they know that both pleasures are only temporary and will not lead to long-term happiness?

This is exactly what i mean. But theres never going to be a human decision that has no repercussions in some form or another, that is what separates us from animals...I guess that's what makes your situation a hypothetical one but it's also what makes it irrelevant to me. I mean i can easily say that, hypothetically, any human being would steal a million dollars from a bank if there were no repercussions, guilt or otherwise. That argument doesn't really have much substance to it either does it?

I chose the drink heavily option since my idea of a vacation would most likely include a stay at an all inclusive resort, with drinking being a logical consequence. Completely disagree with this part. This basically equates a human being to an animal with zero self-control.

Did you watch the game? I'm not going to argue that Kovy has been sub-par this season, even his biggest fans would say so. I've always had a love-hate opinion of him, but he DID play one of his best games in a long time and he DID create numerous scoring chances for himself and his linemates. Will this mean a turnaround for his season? We can hope...

Couldn't agree with that more. I still have fond memories of meeting Adrion Smith when I was in grade 6, he signed the cast I had on my leg. Then 3 years later he shows up at one of our football practices. What a great player and a great role model. Richardson just looks like he could jump right into the NFL. I'm not sure what his 40 time is but he certainly has the size and the hands to be a solid NFLer, from what I've seen anyways.

What is your definition of acting like an idiot? If booing O'Byrne is wrong then what about booing a ref or an opposing player? I mean they are all human beings at the end of the day, it would be pretty disrespectful to boo any of em no?
