  1. Couldnt really agree more. This is probably the best I've ever felt after the last game of the season. Certainly disappointing to go out in round 2, but we are a young team with a great future. This team will be back next year and it will be a contender. The conference title and division title are meaningless in the history of Habs lore, but those are nothing to sneeze at for a team that was expected to finish far out of the playoffs. The culture of this hockey team has changed over the last few months, and it is once again great to be a fan of the Montreal Canadiens! :ghg: :ghg: :ghg:
  2. Jays rotation has now gone 7 straight starts without giving up more than 2 earned runs. Im hard pressed to find a better one in the league right now. On the flip side, I'm hard pressed to find a worse offense in the league right now.
  3. Blood is the factor though. Those are the rules. I don't always agree with it but blood is what determines stiffer punishment in the NHL.
  4. Ya know, the only time I remember feeling this ripped off was in 1998 when Hasek completely dominated the Habs and the Sabres swept us out of the 2nd round. Martin Biron is NOT Dominik Hasek.
  5. And how many posts are we gonna hit? UGH, we need luck on our side for a game and we will destroy them.
  6. Really? I mean we werent overly great in the 1st and 2nd but neither was Philly. If anything I felt like we had the best chances, same with in game 2. This can't continue. My biggest worry is that the boys will be so discouraged at the lack of results that we won't continue to dominate. But as of right now I am ABSOLUTELY convinced that Biron cannot steal a series, so if we keep this up we WILL win. I don't know who you go with in game 4, if it is indeed Price then it has to be an extremely short leash. I must say I felt quite relaxed with Jaro in net and wouldnt mind if Carbo went with him on Wednesday night. GO :hlogo: GO
  7. As Wamsley mentioned LeClair was much older during his first few seasons but there's another major flaw. The early 90s were pretty much the same as the mid to late 80s as far as scoring levels go. 1992-1993 saw the 10th leading scorer (Mark Recchi) finish with 123 points. As you know, Ovechkin led the league this season with 112 points. Games were much higher scoring back then and that's going to lead to better numbers for Leclair by comparison.
  8. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just reminds me of the famous Desjardins game........... 11 more to GO!!! and Ill be at Game 2
  9. Anyone selling Tickets for game 2? I just found out I'm going to be in MTL for it and would obviously kill to get my hands on some tickets...
  10. Important to get that first game, you know Philly is going to be a little worn out with this being their 3rd game in 4 nights plus the OT in Game 7. Let's come out strong and get ahead early! GO :hlogo: GO
  11. Since the loveboat scandal we've been extremely strict with players and their code of conduct. I am sure that ownership took his character into consideration when making the deal and if they believe he will get that problem straightened out then that's good enough for me.
  12. Please let John Gibbons be fired...throw in JP and I'll be even happier... Frank Thomas will land somewhere and will make the Jays look foolish.
  13. I lost a lot of interest in the draft on tuesday when the Vikes made the Jared Allen trade. Perfect deal for us though, our D was really only lacking a pass rush and now we got it. It's going to be hard to double team Allen with the Williams combo in the middle. I may be biased but I can't think of a better dline out there...
  14. I think Price will be a major difference but I also think coaching will come into play. Claude Julien managed to get his team to buy into a system of shutting down the neutral zone and his PK, for whatever reason, almost completely shut down our PP. It almost worked. I don't think John Stevens is on Julien's level, and I don't think he has the personnel to do it either. That and Philly's undisciplined play (seriously hartnell has to be one of the least disciplined players i've seen) will be their downfall. Let's hope Koivu and Skost. limit the minors though because Philly's PP is a force. I'm going with Habs in 6.
  15. Really? I actually prefer to sit higher up. I've said 3 rows back and it's cool no doubt, but in the end the best seats are higher up. You can see the whole play develop, and i hate having to look through glass.
  16. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is all...
  17. I'm nervous as hell right now. I have an exam at 330 but i can barely even study for it because all i can think about is the game tonight... I really hope that Carbo puts Koivu with Kovalev if things arent working well. Maybe they can rekindle the magic they had in the 04 playoffs. My desktop background is Richard Zednik celebrating after his goal in game 7 in 04...
  18. So far this season we have responded from defeats quite well. Time to continue to see what we're really made of.
  19. Ugh...I can't believe how poorly we played after that opening period. I'm really hoping Koivu can come back for Game 6 because we don't have a 2nd line right now, and the 1st line outside of Kovalev looks lost. The first goal is key on Saturday night. If we give it up Boston is going to have all sorts of momentum and it will be a tough challenge to take it back. Please finish it off in Boston, Game 7s are too tough on the heart...
  20. Anyone else think the floodgates are about to open up in the second? Let's bury these guys. The Bs dont have nearly as much fight in them as they did in Boston that's for sure. Man i hate that team. My favourite moment other than the goal had to have been Chara in his own zone simply losing the puck and the Habs picking it up in the neutral zone and getting a good scoring chance...i think it was the Smoke line that was out for that...Would have been super to score there.
  21. He's been our best player in the first two games in my opinion. To be honest I didn't notice him lay too many big hits throughout the regular season, but I think he has stepped it up a notch and is really playing some great hockey.
  22. That was probably an ideal game when you really think about it. This was our wake up call, and we still won! Let's take the 3-0 stranglehold on the road tomorrow! GO HABS GO
  23. ugh what happened to our PP. We really need to score on this PP so we're not tired out for tomorrow. Come on boys!
  24. Great thread Kozed. Be huge to go up 2-0, maybe give Koivu and Bouillon some more time to rest because with a 2 game lead their return wouldn't be quite as critical. Cant wait! GO :hlogo: GO
