  1. Ek's latest is Kariya to Montreal (rumour)
  2. Dupuis re-signed with Atlanta Added Saprykin, Scatchard (will be bought out) as well as a few RFAs not tendered QA's.
  3. Tkachuk signed a 2 year, 8 million dollar contract with St. Louis. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=8319
  4. I agree that Briere is not the ideal player the team needs but no way would I give up the opportunity to pass on a guy with such offensive skill. Acquire the skill that you can without losing roster players and then deal with situation later. (trading for a big winger or d-man)... IMO
  5. Geez...that is 3 teams in the East shoring up their goaltending situation in the past week. Teams are getting more competitive. BTW...good luck to Aebi signing with a team this summer. Too many goaltenders to go around.
  6. Sounds good to me. I re-titled the original thread.
  7. Too much for Briere but didn't the Habs offer that same contract to Elias last season but Elias decided to stay in NJ? It was 7M...just not sure how many years.
  8. Leighton...lol, for a 7th round pick http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/article.jsp...0623_154032_700
  9. some info on Subban http://nhldraftbuzz.blogspot.com/search/label/PK%20Subban
  10. If he like to carry the puck that much and with his stocky frame, the habs may just make him a forward.
  11. Arnason re-signed with the Avs. Roberts and Recchi re-signed with the Pens
  12. They only reported Toskala earlier...I see Bell was added. Nice pick-up...we will see if it is the same Bell as last year or the one from Chicago. Let's hope he plays the same as last year.
  13. for 3 draft picks http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/article.jsp...0622_122912_664
  14. No way would I trade Higgins, not even for Marleau. BTW Ek is now saying the Habs may trade with Washington today which will set-up a larger trade tomorrow.
  15. those links didn't work for me but I came across this. http://japersrink.blogspot.com/2007/06/new...rms-leaked.html
  16. updated...actually I try to keep it updated daily, as needed
  17. Not only are those salaries foolish...they signed them each for 6 years. Way to go Philly, you have just screwed the entire salary structure for the rest of the league. I am not optimistic at all the Habs will sign a star player if it means that kind of money.
  18. From the HF boards: "As reported by Soviet Sport, Emelin has signed a two-year deal with AK Bars Kazan. In a short interview to the paper, he said that they had started negotiating before the WHC, and that the Habs also offered a contract, but it was too late since he had already reached a deal with Kazan by the time the Habs approached him."
  19. Higgins and Komi will be attending the rookie camp in early July. They have been doing off-ice training but want to keep their skating sharp. I love these guys. http://www.canada.com/topics/sports/hockey...266e&k=3331
  20. Excellent. It is important for Bob to get these guys signed before free agency. That way he knows how much money he has committed before pursuing some talent.
  21. http://www.tampabaylightning.com/prdetail....&category=3 I would have been fine replacing Bonk with Gratton on the 3rd line. He only makes 1.5M P.S. should we make an offseason trade thread?
  22. Hasek is reportedly close to signing another 1 year deal with Detroit. http://blog.mlive.com/redwingsinsider/2007...ek_to_retu.html
  23. Shanahan was hours away from signing in Montreal...
  24. I would take Primeau in a heart beat. I do agree the Habs need a big goon too. Anyone that thinks small tough guys that don't fight will get you just as much...look at Anaheim. The Cup Champs manhandled the league with fights last season. Having tough players and the odd fighter makes everyone else on your team bigger and play with more of an edge...it's infectious. BTW, here is Ek's Habs free agent forcaster. Enjoy. Habs fans would have Gainey's head if he traded either Higgins or Komi to move up and get Espo. He also doesn't realize Higgins plays the left wing. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=8003
