  1. Did anyone see Dagenais throw a hip check, that might be the best tihng I"ve seen thus far
  2. Latest article on rds.ca says that Julien says that the move of HOssa has nothign to do with Latendresse and is only b/c they were afraid of losing him on waivers. Julien also says there is a chance he might have two tough guys in the lineup to start the season b/c of teams like TO and Ottawa which are really big. Hope Latendresse sticks and plays on the top two lines, and since he isn't playing tonight, I feel this is a message to Perezhogin from Gainey and Julien saying, we know what Lats can do, show us what you can do or your back in Hamilton. We'll see what happens.
  3. I am hoping that he will make the team also, as I think he can contribute on the second line even as an 18 year old. That spot everyone gave to Perezhogin on the second line seems a pretty good fit, for Latendresse. However, By reading that article, I can just as easily see the oposite, that they have already decided that he will go to junior but want to allow him to participate in the big camp for as long as possible to gain experience. Should they choose to keep him, they would have to send perezhogin down and possibly Higgins, until a deal to move HOssa is made. Plekanek and HOssa will need to clear waivers to be sent down. That leaves no other options only HIggins and Perezhogin. I doubt that would happen b/c Higgins seems like he's made the team. ANyhow, let's hope for the best and see what happens, i''m a believer in the idea that if he makes the team better now, then worry about his free agent status 7 years from now
  4. Goal Scorers MTL: ribeiro and Ryder Boston: Leahy, Bergeron, Fitzgerald, Walter, Boyes According to the NHL Network Ticker
  5. I trust the ticker more than the website, b/c the ticker on the NHL network (during the buffalo - Ottawa game) said it was a final of 5-2 for the Bruins and listed all 7 of the games goal scorers. Final 5-2 Bruins unfortunately
  6. The NHL NEtwork ticker says it's final 5-2 for the Bruins They listed all the goal scorers so unelss someone is on crack that's what it is. Damn ESPN playing with our heads b/c they didn't get a contract and all the other stations are snoozing
  7. Espn and the Bruins website both say that it is 2 - 1 for the Bruins after 2. Who knows what's going on at this point, i'm so confused
  8. Clearly would be a benefit if we could somehow get him. He is a tough defenceman with good size, decent skating ability and a good shot. He could be the missing link on the D, for what it's worth Ek is "confirming" that 4 teams are talking to Boynton, including MTL and TOR. Markov Boynton Sourray Dandenault Komisarek / Rivet / Bouillon / Hainsey / Streit
  9. Is tonight's game on CJAD? I was listening to the game last night and remember them mentioning that it wouldn't be on. If anybody knows, it'd be appreciated and if it isn't on CJAD is it on a french radio station? Thanks
  10. How bout this, The official scoring has been changed and Latendresse has gotten credit for the OT winner. It hit him and deflected in. Another solid game for him 1 goal and 1 assist. As much as i think they may send him to junior I can't help but get excited and hope they give him his shot. He seems to be helping the team....Why NOT, worry about free agency issues when it happens, if he can help now let him.
  11. The story on sportsnet news today showed Ryder skating and practicing with the team, but said that he's still not ready to go, but should be for the season opener. I hope that's true, it would be even better if he could get some work in during the preseason and get some of the timing back.
  12. I thought it was a pretty solid game all around. The defence could certainly be a bit better in their own end and much stronger in front of the net. I'm getting very excited though to see the entire team play together. We've had 4 exhibition games now, and in each one, we're basically missing one of the top two lines and 2 of the top four defenceman. The team is shaping up very solid, hopefully all of theyoung guys can keep it up. Dandenault is going to have a great year thisyear, he is by far the fastest guy on the team and he seems to have a great knack for knowing when to jump into the play. Very underrated as the number six on a stacked Detroit team for years. He could be the number 2 D-man on this team.
  13. Thanks for the updates, everything I'm reading is getting me more and more excited about the season. Seeing all of the line combinations being tried out in the scrimmages are getting my mind going and thinking about how they could work in all of the young guys. Julien could really turn the lines upside down with all these young guys and have four lines that could put the puck in the net. I love hearing Ribeiro playing with Latendresse and who knows who'll make the team but with Ryder on that line, they have the potential to score a ton. Keep up the good work
  14. Unfortunately, to be honest, I have absolutely no idea as to the accuracy of this information. Sorry about that, I just thought I'd pass it along, I'll be better able to comment on the accuracy in a couple of hours. Sorry I can't be a better help. But if it means anything I've heard the same thing from a few different places thus far. [Edited on 2005/8/31 by gohabsgo252006]
  15. I've got this from another forum: They say that Jean Page of TQS is reporting that Gainey offered Theo a 4 year / 5.5M per, while Meehan and Theo countered with 5 yr / 5.2M per w/ a NO trade clause (not sure the details). They say that Gainey has till tommorow to decide if he wants to accept the Meehan proposal if not, Theo will sign the 1 yr QO and become UFA next summer. It's Meehan that has called this press conference and not the Habs. [Edited on 8-31-05 by Fanpuck33]
  16. I don't know about his credibility at all, but a guy with a blog at www.hockeyleaks.com, reported that Richards to MTL is a good posibility and at this point he said it was a70% chance of happening. Eklund has now also got on this rumour giving it one of his infamous (e3) ratings. Like i said I don't know what that means in terms of reliability, but i thought i'd say it anyways and like I said before, I like Ryder but I don't think any GM can pass up the opportunity of adding a guy like RIchards to their team and that includes Gainey. [Edited on 2005/8/28 by gohabsgo252006]
  17. Richards has also had some experience playing on the LW last year and at some National events, so there's some room to play with for both Julien and Gainey if he wanted to make a subsequent deal. If true, you just cannot pass up an opportunity to get a player like Richards. As far as I'm concerned he is by a mile the best of the 3 TB stars.
  18. I'm very skeptical about the rumour, but if it's true I think it would be a great trade. As much as I like Ryder, Richards is a tremendous upgrade in talent and he will be a sakic like superstar for years. Hainsey is a bust and should be traded while other teams still think he has potential. Great trade if it's true...Here's to hoping, if anybody could do it it's Bob.
  19. I'd give him a Max of 5M a yr on a 4 year deal. I think he's great but his sometimes inconsistent play still worries me at times. But regardles of the inconsistency he is too valuable to sign short term and risk losing to UFA status next year. I also think that anything above 5M is just going to hamper the ability of the team to sign other valuable players later on and he's definitely not worth as much as Brodeur at least not yet. 4yr / 20M Let's hope it gets done soon.
  20. As far as I know, all 82 games will be shown on RDS. Does anyone know if all of the games will be shown on NHL Center Ice b/c I'll be living in Kingston and can't get RDS so I was curious if most or all of the games will be shown on CEnter Ice...Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  21. If we were going to sign a vet, I'd rather it be Damphousse, I think he offers more versatility, that he can play a 3rd or fourth line checking role and can fill in on the top two if necessary. He can also be played on teh wing and if there are injury problems he can be moved to his more natural center position. Although he's not the natural scorer that BOndra is...I think Bondra is done and Damphousse would fit in better. Also, If theo is signed to an even remotely similar deal to that of Luongo it would have to be a one year deal right? I don't think theo would accept considering he is unrestricted next year. Maybe at 4.5 or something like that but even that isn't likely.
  22. Eklund (for whatever it's worth) is saying that rumours regarding a Theo for Luongo deal are starting to circulate again. Rarely do we ever see a deal with two superstar up and coming goalies being exchanged but anything is possible. Aside from play, getting Luongo might put Gainey in a better salary cap position, as IMO he'll have to settle for at least 1M less per year than THeo.
